narf_
starting a thread on this cabinet i got today it is all complete minus the chassis and CP parts. Ive added a tv tube and will source out a chassis from joey shortly. the overlay im going to remove and powdercoat as it is starting to come up on the edges. Was going to install overlay but that is nearly as much as the powercoater will add new square start buttons and probably add zippies for now also this cabinet bar a few op drill holes and some damage from someone trying to break in is near minty this will be good as its a project cab worth keeping
narf_
done a bit of work stripped the old overlay and after a good tip from a member went and got some "chalkboard vinyl". $25 cut and installed probably easy my self but the girl was hot as and she knew what she was doing with it

narf_
yeah i had the choice of 2 or 4 player panel thought i would stick with the 2 as a 2 player is a easy remake if 4 is too much
Mikie
great fit on the monitor, if a 2 player , sticking with the wide control panel?
narf_
yeah might do i was keen on a cab of gibos that had a dying 25 inch tube. just so happened that cab wasnt in the shed at the time and this one was there and too good to pass up. Was just good timing the week before the neighbour chucked out a 25 inch TV so a quick test and rip out of the tube it fitted snug as a bug im stocked as its a nice compact sized cab and bonus the tube is a rare find these days

narf_
progress at last. Had a problem with colours but all worked out in the end p2 and p3 will be linked with a molex plug to seperate the extra harness between them this way there is more room for 2 player only games

narf_
dam the CP wiring is a mission on its own just made up some harness for Player 1-4. This machine is going to be running a 1066 so P3+4 are connected via a jamma connector. I had a box of old wiring odds and sods from old machines. Luckily had just the right molexed leads in there to make some to suit the ones in the machine. Now just need some spade terminals and the wiring begins. There is around 60 or more odd spade connections so for will order one of these to take the hardpart out of daisy chaining the commons at least (or at least 90% of them) http://www.arcadeparts.com.au/shop/index.php/13/136_Wire_Ground_Harness_With_30_Connectors tube is being delivered to joey on tuesday and then i will have to collect it back if i can catch him getting there slowly. Alot of $$ going into this cab but at the end of the day to me its worth it all
narf_
tube and chassis are finished (thanks joey) now time to get them and the gameboard soon
