Airbrush PF touchups..

Recommended Posts

I have bought myself a nice little Iwata airbrush with a view to using it to touch up a playfield - I have a couple of old playfields to practice on first..

Question is, what type and brand of paint is the best to use for an airbrush? I have a nice range of water based acrylic art paints that I have played around with using tiny brushes, but they are way to thick for an airbrush..

I've got Chromacryl paints and am thinning it with Atelier Gloss Medium and Varnish. Haven't done enough to give it the thumbs up but seems ok so far

Thanks Foot - where are they available from??

Do you happen to have any pictures of before and after of a pf you've done of the touch ups? And do you use friscut type film for masking? Any techniques you can share?

Not that I got any thanks :( :cry

But most of my restores which are on AA air done with Air Brush or my small Spry Gun (about 1/3 size of normal spray gun) plus good old touch up brush.

I've used chromacryl got a fair few from here http://www.theartshop.com.au/category273_1.htm and used acrylic thinner available from auto paint shops or Super Cheap for example for thinning, but have also used SpotLight stores for paint to, but I think they were water based, which for me was easier to clean up mistakes.

Only used contact or masking tape never tried friscut (maybe I should)

Thanks Foot :D
