Add-a-ball vs Replay versions

Recommended Posts

Hi all, my first post so please tolerate my ignorance:D

Firstly I'm so glad I found this great forum, I have got my first machine, my wife like's it, the kids love it, I'm hooked already and will soon be building a games room for my own replica Crystal Palace.

My new EM is Paddock, and I was reading that the add-a-ball version is called Post Time. Now I have been looking at EM's for only a short time and realise that many have another version. But it was only today that I saw that Post Time has a five reel score, with a zero added to all the points on they playfield. Paddock only has a four reel score.

I had a quick look at other tables but haven't seen an alternative version with different scoring. I was wondering if this was a common thing with alternative versions. Thanks:)

Have a look at the internet pinball database at http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=post+time&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#1853 and you will see a reference for Post Time and a link to Paddock.

Enjoy your EM - nothing beats them. I started with one machine and now have 6.

If you haven't yet discovered This Old Pinball, check this out: http://www.pinrepair.com/em/index.htm

There are a bunch of Add a ball versions of EM's. But most of them are low production compared to their replay version cousins.

They made AAB versions for the US states that replay versions were not allowed in, such as Wisconsin, NY and Illinois.

Thanks for the replies and the link to the guides, that will be really handy. Rod71, that's generally what I have found looking at the IPM database. It seems that Paddock actually had more of the add-a-ball version made. I guess the change in scoring it what surprised me most.
