fuse question?

Question

fuse question?

hi,

i'm repairing an EM pinball which requires a 15-Amp fuse 24 Volts. I can only find a 15-Amp 250 Volts fuse to buy at the shop. Will this fuse be ok? Or do I need to find the correct voltage fuse? Any help will be appreciated. thanks

With fuses you want the voltage rating to be the same or higher than the specs ask for, and the current rating (amps) should be the same or lower (though the same would be ideal, otherwise you may find yourself replacing the fuse all the time when it keeps blowing under normal circuit conditions).

Sorry to hijack, but i have a fuse question as well. On my flipper board, there are 4 fuses. 2 of them have thin wire in them, and the other 2 have a thick wire. Is there a difference? Im thinking the thick ones may be slow blow fuses?

Im stabbing in the dark here:confused:

also, on the flipper board it says 3A SB under all fuses, i pulled out the 2 bottom ones and they are 7.5A fuses? WARNING:DO NOT OVER FUSE is written there as well, now im confused.

Sounds like someone has put the wrong (7.5A) fuses in two of the positions.

Slow blow fuses either have a obvious spiral in the wire or a small "blob" on the wire. They also often have "T" marked near the value. eg. 3.15T is 3.15 Amps, time delay.
