Battery-free MPU boards

Just wondering if anyone has used these MPU boards available from the U.S.

Bit of a high price tag once the exchange rate kicks in but what is the deal with NO BATTERIES REQUIRED FOR MEMORY RETENTION....

I like the idea of not stressing about batteries leaking and destroying the board but do these boards have any memory at all.

What do you all think.

It's cheaper to buy it directly from Rottendog:

I'm guessing with the lack of batteries requirement that it either uses a capacitor bank to replace the batteries or makes use of non-volatile memory to negate the requirement of a permanent power supply.

If you have an existing board that is otherwise fine and you're worried about the batteries leaking, move them off the board.

Hi Wayne,

Like Gibo I am also having trouble spotting them on your site. Could you tell me how much they are and how much for postage .

Don't "need" one but like I said at the start of the thread the idea of having no batteries is VERY appealing and would consider changing mine out and keeping the original as a spare.

P.S- I have a DE Star Wars pin just in case you're wondering Wayne.

Thanks,

Scott.
