GnR not firing up correctly

Scotty T

Question

Didn;t want to do this bu thave to ask for help!....

Rebuilt my GnR put everything back together, checked fuses and pretty much checked all plugs and the below pic is what I'm getting. Looks like the GI lamps go on, a bit of crackling from the speakers and the DMD is messy. IT doesn;t go off just stays like this....

Anyone offer other trouble shooting tips, or I may have to get a tech out to have a go!...

Thanks for the tip, one thing I didn't check.

I pulled all connections off, checked voltage all good.

Put back together.

Turned on. DMD now working, GI lights go on then off, then into attract mode!...

Put 5 new balls in and now comes up with ball launcher fault.

Can here the it trying to feed but balls are just not launching into the ball launcher....

Apart from that, and some lights not working (Worry about that later) it's in a better state!,,,,

Will try again tomorrow

I would be checking/reseating all the ribbon cables first, Savage, (I assume they were unplugged/removed at some stage during the restore?)

I know from personal experience it is very easy to plug those ribbon cables in one pin to the left or right of "dead on" and get a garbled or no display at all.;)

EDIT: Solved: I need to learn to type faster!

Yeah, been caught out by that in the past, weird how it affects every other aspect..

I think the ball trough might be put together wrong or something is obstructing it, the balls aren't getting to the plunger from the trough, although the solenoids are working, it's tries to push the ball into the plunger but by the looks, the balls just aren't moving into the correct spot....

Will see tomorrow!

Yeah, may even be a stray screw or globe that found it's way into the feeder or trough...

Cheers

Sounds like an obstruction of some sort as already mentioned or maybe just an adjustment issue. You may need to gently bend the ball guide of the trough or something simple like that.....is the ball actually moving at all?

OK got the trough sort of working.

Need some ahem, manual bending as it was trying to shoot the ball up into the plunger but was off centre.

It now detects the balls in the trough and shoots the ball into the plunger, but it keeps on activating after doing this? weird don't know why as yet.

So half a win.

Audio working, so a good win there!...

Theses lights as shown in this pic (top right of photo) aren't working http://mirror1.ipdb.org/images/1100/image-13.jpg

Seems to be only these type, yet to sus this out either.

I know also my middle pop bumper is not working, yet to look at this too..!

Slowly getting there!

Ok,

I think most of it's now working except for the GI as stated above.

It looks to be just the two sets of lights as above (and another set the same)

and the top half of the backbox lights....

Anyone that has a gunners, can you remove a plug / fuse that turns these off and let me know which one(s) it is. That would be great.

I'm chasing my tail a bit here....
