cejay
Hi all, Has anyone purchased a set of these before? If so what was the quality like and is there a similar product available in Oz? http://www.pinballfanatic.com/pincab.html Cheers, Chris
Shock_And_Awe
I've got them on a few of my pins. They are great if the decals are rolled up and damaged around the legs because the Pincabs cover this area and make the area look very neat. If you want to use them and the cab has no damage then the clear ones look pretty good. Black look great on cabs like TAF or on cabs that are black - stating the obvious :) I put some on my IJ after I put new decals on and 18 months later removed the legs to see if there was any damage under the Pincabs on the new decals and I'm happy to say that all is intact except you can see where the pressure has pushed in on the decal - under the leg so no prob. I was very happy with this. If you order direct from the link you gave, the guy says something like shipping is $18 for one set or for as many sets as you want. Now that's a good deal if you're buying 10 sets but sucks if you only want 1. When I'm only looking to order one set I usually just get them from Bay Area Amusements when I'm doing an order. MrMaloo
Have you tried the leg protectors from Mark C. http://www.pinballspareparts.com.au/index.php?crn=214&rn=563&action=show_detail They are a felt-like material and a cheaper alternative that do just as good a job IMO. cejay
Sounds good boys... maybe give this thread until the end of the week and do a bulk order. Obviously people outside of SA would need to factor in shipping to their location. I'd probably get 3-4 sets I reckon.
felixthadog
I was just wondering whether I should get the light blue or clear protectors for my Judge Dredd machine? It is difficult to tell whether the light blue will match the blue in the decals. What do you guys think? :unsure Matthew
Shock_And_Awe
I put the light blue ones on my Roadshow and it looked great.

Railways
I've used the black ones a couple of times ( CFTBL & TAF ) and as Shock & awe said they look good and cover up any worn decal very well. I too usually order them from Bay Area with an order but they seem to have a shortage of Black ones the last time I looked. I haven't found anywhere in OZ that does them and as said there are the felt ones available from Melbourne. I have a set but haven't used them yet. Curly at http://www.thumpsworld.com/littleshopofgames/bulbs.html also has them and some interesting other stuff.
Shock_And_Awe
This Roadshow had a fair bit of damage around the legs but the Pincabs tidied it up quite nice except for a small section on the left side. The felt probably work well but don't look the best unless they're trimmed and covered by the legs and then they don't cover any decal damage around the legs. Thanks for the pic, the light blue protectors are much too light in colour for my JD cabinet, and I doubt they would look as good behind brass legs as they do behind blue legs. I'm thinking the clear protectors would be a better option, except that the damage on the decals would be visible behind the protector. LOTR4U
They are a felt-like material and a cheaper alternative that do just as good a job IMO. The felt ones get brital over time, how do I know this? A machine I bought had them on it and they felt dried out and coarse. There Is a debate about "leg protectors" on Rec Pinball Games. Use the search function and you can get varied opinions. I now use the clear protectors, 1 they don't look ugly and 2 its smooth against the decal.
