My inlaws have TV thats a couple of years old which has started to give really weird colours. It will probably end up forming the screen of an arcade cab I am planning to build as they plan on getting a large LCD, but as their renovations are at least 12 months away they would prefer this one to last the year.
The fault appeared one day apparently, and did go away briefly once. Its clearly not missing any one colour, so am wondering if its a degaussing fault. There is no way to trigger a degauss with the menu system either.
If the colour is turned right down the image is fine in black and white, which surely uses all 3 guns equally. For some reason its forgetting where the colours should be in an image.
