opm881
Ive re-drawn my original design and now it looks more like a standard cabinet. here is a dodgy knock up picture at the bottom of the post any way, i was wondering what kind of sizes are used for cabinets. Im using a 19inch CRT monitor, and i want to put my 2 speakers on either side just because im probably gonna use a logitech speaker set because i can get one with 2 speakers and a sub for like 3 bucks and it has a volume control on the speakers, so mouinting them int heir original casing on each side of the monitor means i will be able to adjust the volume aslong as they arnt behind the perspex. But yea, i am not sure how i am going to do size wise. I figuyre i can get it deep enough so the monitor rests against the back of the case, and its about 44cms deep so i figure 48cms deep at the point where the monitor touches the back of teh case, but im unsure about height, the base cabinets width, and teh widthe i need for the control panel. vocalninja
Old style cabinets like the LAI lowboys had speakers on the top. Are your logitech magnetically sheilded?
opm881
the logitechs should be. I have a 5.1 set up on ym current comp and i have 5 speakers sitting round the monitor, and on my auntys comp there are the speakers im thinking of using and they sit next to her monitor. Had this comp for over 12 months with the speakers and nufin has happened to it yet. The monitor i bought was 50 bucks so its not like it was a huge amount of money and it was teh size i want, but by the looks of things the controlls are gonna cost me 135 bucks any way

opm881
OH YEA! i remeber those, they have them in an arcade up home. hmm, i wonder if i could simply mod the dimensions so its taller, more to the height i want. I was looking at around 180cm for the total height of my case, and about 90cm to the bottom of the draw for the keyboard. then just size down the brackets for the monitor cause its only a 19inch. do you have any drawings with dimensions or is it just the sketch up drawing
spot
you could easily add to the bottoms to add height. the sketchup model is done to scale. i needed to make sure the tvs i used would fit.
opm881
what sized tvs did u use? cause im using a 19 inch crt monitor. The casing for it is like 46 wide by 47 high by 44 deep edit: just had a look at it, looks like i will have to make some modifications but that is a great help, thanks
spot
i used konka 68cm tvs. they were 745mm wide - which was a great fit since the internal dimensions are 750mm.
