Pinball Glass for Backbox

Recommended Posts

I'm talking about the glass in front of the translites.....has anyone ever managed to buy a sheet of this before??

I believe the size is 480x686x3mm and I ordered a sheet from a local glazier when I did a bulk pinball order. I requested no stamp but it came with a stamp.

I have since tried through another glazier (long story) but the end result is that they can't get 3mm toughened glass made without a stamp. Apparently it's got something to do with Australian Standards.

Has anyone managed to but a sheet of this 3mm toughened?

Any ideas where I can get some from?

Thanks,

Mark.

Try Viridian glass 97562100, The're sister company in SA can do without stamp ,no prob.

thanks Gav. I did try Viridian head office and they said Newcastle can do it without a stamp but then called Newcastle and they said they can't. I will try Viridian again in the morning - man what a pain in the ass this is!

hmm i got 5mm done and no stamp

didnt know they stamped it

a lady at the local glaziers said that she thought 3mm and under had to be stamped as per Australian Standards.

for home use you probably don't need it toughened - unless you have kids that play football or cricket in your games room.:)

I know what you mean but with kids around I think I will play it safe. The last one smashed when I transported a game with the key in the backbox lock. It must've unlocked in transport and when I lifted the backbox it fell out and smashed into a million pieces.

I just got playfield glasses done but the difference is I think they were 5mm thick. According to the lady I spoke to, 3mm toughened needs to be stamped.

Didn't realise that, maybe the same here then.

I'm sure you will be able to get it done.
