Help running XBMC on DuoX 2 (xbox)

Recommended Posts

hey all,

Just a quick question about getting XBMC working on the DuoX 2 modchip.

I've installed the chip fine and would like to run XBMC as the dashboard.

What is the preferred/best method?

I'm currently getting Slayer's Evox auto-installer, so I was just going to flash Evox dash on there, and use the shortcut method for XBMC... :unsure

If there's any other methods please, do tell :)

It's my first DuoX install. All the others I've done have been Xecuter's 3CE's.

Thanks

EDIT: Hot glue is fine to use on console mobos? I just want to seal in one of the wires.

yeah slayers is probably the best way to do it just take a few clicks and your done. Then i would go get the latest xbmc for all its updated goodness. Not too sure on the hot glue question as i have never heard of it done before but if it was me i wouldn't risk it unless it is absolutely necessary.

Cool. Thanks.

I might just use electrical tape instead of the glue.

I agree with XITaU. Slayers or Auto Installer Deluxe is still probably the easiest hassle free way to install the dash of your choice.

Have a look on the torrent sites and you might be lucky to find an updated version with the newer XBMC. Otherwise IRC is the best for all the new goodness.

AS for the hot glue. I have used it on the at least five mods in the past and never had any probs. Just makes things neater and more secure for your wire.

Yeah I usually grab it via ftp from #xbins or the mirror

Thanks. I mainly wanted it for the D0 solder point on the mobo ie it's fine wire on an even smaller solder spot and I'd like to lock it in place.

Looks like Slayers Evox disc worked great :)

Threw it in and I could then connect via FTP easily to backup the HDD.

There's a tonne of options, which included what I wanted.. Install *only* XBMC and make it the dashboard.

Makes my original question look dumb!
