  1. No flag, it did get plenty of attention though, well still does 😁 A mate of mine has a factory grabber orange Charger with all the General Lee stuff on it, my Smartie was Black, so a weekend and some orange vinyl wrap, got our stripe guy from work to print me up some 01 stickers and General Wee was born, I then picked my mate up for our fortnightly dinner in it, got some laughs out of it and used it as my daily work car for 6 months until my Nephew pestered me for it. You can tell I like Smart cars by my shed

  2. No dissing, My work car is a 2010 Smart Fortwo, it takes $40 to fill from empty, get 600 ks to a tank and I get to work and back for 3 weeks each fill up 😁, and I reckon if I laid the passenger seat down I would fit a pin in it, bit tight but it would fit 🀣. the humble mini car quite often get overlooked, because to some people, size matters 😁 Fortunately I have a myriad of cars to chose from and to pollute the ozone with, but the Smart is my favourite to drive. I have had many smart cars over the years and my favourite was General Wee, pictured here on my trailer just before my nephew purchased it from me as I upgraded to the one I have now.

  5. I have 2 x old Bally EM/SS legs, and 2 x Bally/Midway System 11 (half ribbed) legs. I've been told these are from a System 11 anyway. Pick up in Oakleigh 3166 VIC or can post at your expense. Just putting it out there is case someone requires 2 more of what they already have to make a set. All legs appear straight and are 28.5 inch (725mm).

  8. e=mc2 I only mention this because yes in thermodynamics all you do is move energy around, nothing is created or destroyed. I know you mention that because Steve, bless him, keeps pointing to 'top secret perpetual motion-like' ideas that would save the world if only 'they' would allow it. But of course as that formula reminds us, there is a special case where we are creating energy directly out of mass. Of course, nuclear reactors are not as cheap as you would imagine such 'free' energy should be...

  9. Yep that is what we were taught but man can be creative. Do you know what water hammer is?. Water stopping and starting in a water pipe and the pipe heats up and can break the pipes. You can buy valves to suppress water hammer from your house water system but some plumber in the US realized that heat. He made up a thing that worked and looked like a revolver as in the gun. His idea was run the water through the barrel and spin the revolver to create water hammer and therefore heat the water. The revolver section was spun using a small ac motor but he found if the sped up the motor, the more water hammer created caused the water to get much hotter to actually boiling. If he slowed the speed down, the outlet water got cooler to the point of no spinning and the water remained it's same temperature. He had it on test in a Fire Department engine house in one of the states in the US. He explained to create that hot water electrically would require a heating element where this system just uses the power for a small AC motor. So that is why I say man can be creative.

  10. I have never heard about the Samsung phone recall, and don't think I even want to know, Like I need yet another phobia...OMG, what has happened to my life, Now I am afraid of my phone.

  11. General Wee.......Hahaha. That is part of a Tesla battery bank complex going up in flames and the fire would be intense on account it being lithium that is on fire. You know lithium, the same thing that was catching fire in those Samsung mobile phones causing them all to be recalled, The same reason the Boeings 777 aircraft were all grounded till they encased the lithium batteries in a fireproof bulkhead. The same lithium that catches fire in electric scooters. The thing is lithium can be recharged but it requires the recharging cycle to be controlled perfectly and requires monitoring the heat build up, the current and the voltage and the electronics does fail resulting in a fire. You want to charge up an EV full of Chinese made lithium iron batteries using a $500 EBay EV charger in your garage and take your chances, that is up to you but I think it is criminal to demand everyone do exactly that and get help from the government to fund it all.

  12. I think each module you are looking at there is shipping container sized or there aboutd Yes, well spotted. It's a Rotax 912. Dont dis the Jazz, great little car. A veritable mini van because the seats lay down so flat (seat base actually moves down when you fold em). Andbthevdoors open almost 90 degrees I knew it was the car for me when I read (maybe here) that someone was transporting pinball machines in one. I've transported my upright arcade cab in it a couple of times now πŸ™‚

  16. Thank you JB for the reply. I can use a jamma box. I was wanting to get away from jamma and go to usb for ease of usb controller set up. But looking at this Jamma Pandora box it does have a usb so may be able to put in a hub for some usb controller boards. Another reason I want to move away is they release jamma style Pandora as an after thought model. New ones with newer systems always come out as usb only with VGA. I thought if I could get VGA to CRT soughted, straight box swaping would be easy. Actually there are better system boxes that could be used but require HDMI. I could go LCD monitor route but want to keep the original CRT

  17. Hi, the standard resolution CRT monitors fitted to earlier arcade machines can't run at VGA scan rates but there are converter PCBs available to achieve this with VGA input and standard resolution RGB + sync output @ 15kHz horizontal frequency. A better solution though would be to find a multigame PCB which does support JAMMA / standard resolution output and not only VGA, Regards, John .

  18. Just replicated a few Manufacturers Certificate labels ready for the next few machine restorations. Solar Ride EM Printed onto 200gsm Quill board in white (ivory was not available) Attached using "X-Press it" double sided adhesive sheets, that held the cardstock in place You will note that the font type on the machine title is different on each label. From the factory this was "stamped on" and font size and type was best replicated as good as possible from original. May not be perfect but improves the restoration. Label size is 89mm x 57.5mm I believe that this is a great result.

  21. When I have found one missing over the mains switch and/or Varistor on the Bally SS games I use these. DETA Junction Box - Bunnings Australia I don't use the base, just the cover and cut out the appropriate wiring access holes.

  22. the transformer is a stepdown.. its likely to be an American import with 60hz 110v transformers. it will work reasonably but the proper way is to have the power switch and a fuse at the input side. ( otherwise the stepdown is always energised) the wire will work but its fairly ugly. as others have said it would usually be braid. the seller was too cheap to even give you leg plates.. terrible effort. https://www.pinballspareparts.com.au/01-9296.html <- here they are.

  23. I think you will find the reason the legs were a pain to remove is because there’s nuts on the inside of the cab instead of plates. Earth would normally be attached to the plates therefore not affecting leg removal.

  24. Older machines didn't seem to have an earth connection between the legs, newer ones have an earth braid stapled around the cabinet earthing the legs and metal parts. Not going to hurt anything in your Genie, just cosmetically rough that's all.
