  6. Here is my funky old sega attack 2. It is working but does need some TLC. Unfortunately I cracked the glass one time putting it together. Real neat part of sega history. The sound needs some attention as it comes and goes. Really not sure what it is worth so let's say $3800 it does need some tweeking but i was playing it last weekend. I have a video of it working that i can send if required.

  9. These guys below have cabs and are willing to ship to Aussies. You just have to find a local importer who deals in container space and tee things up. Twitter is littered with quality distributors from Japan TBH. You can get some crusty rusties from Hong Kong or China from suppliers like HKLegend or Yaton but you’re rolling the dice. Most Japanese distributors will give you ample info, photos and peace of mind. Worth the extra dosh IMO…

  10. An individual called Thomas Daede has gone and made a replacement universal+ CRT chassis!!1! I'd always wondered if someone was going to attempt this. It's early days but the potential seems awesome, and i'm super excited by the fact it's open source. Link to the TD-CRT github.

  11. The name is perfect as they are hell to work on. I had 2 here that were partially parted out... One had no ROMs and all the sprite and background ROM sockets corroded up plus some damaged traces under the dual port RAM. The other had one bank of 2148 Video RAM and a 74ALS163 removed and traces damaged. They both were set to use 23C1000 Mask ROMs for graphics. One that had the ROMs had 27C010 installed for the 2 Program ROMs while the other one was jumpered for 23C1000 Mask ROMs. Comparing those jumpers, I decoded all the jumpers on the board for all three banks of ROMs. Here's a copy from my repair log entry I did tonight: Enjoy! ---------------------- Model: Hellfire Tip: Jumper settings for ROMs O = Jumper Open C = Jumper in place Main Program ROMs: 23C1000 ROM: JP1 O, JP2 C, JP3 O, JP4 O 27C301 EPROM: JP1 O, JP2 C, JP3 C, JP4 O 27C010 EPROM: JP1 C, JP2 O, JP3 O, JP4 C Background ROMs: 23C1000 ROM: JP5 C, JP6 O, JP7 O, JP8 O 27C301 EPROM: JP5 C, JP6 O, JP7 O, JP8 C 27C010 EPROM: JP5 O, JP6 C, JP7 C, JP8 O Sprite ROMs: 23C1000 ROM: JP9 O, JP10 O, JP11 C, JP12 O 27C301 EPROM: JP9 C, JP10 O, JP11 C, JP12 O 27C010 EPROM: JP9 O, JP10 C, JP11 O, JP12 C These jumpers affect the whole bank. Take caution when desoldering the power and ground traces on this PCB. They are very heavy and hard to desolder cleanly.

  12. Looks like a Stern cabinet that someone has thrown a Playboy into. So the question is would you want to put the game back into a Bally cabinet, or just fix up some of their hacks to make it look a little bit better.

  13. I came across this announcement on a licensed "upgrade" kit for Funhouse which I thought was unique and IMO one way to get a little more out of your pinball machine. Basically new software, DMD, back glass, toy, and boards to give the game a new rule set and features. No permanent modifications and fully reversible. I thought it was a really interesting concept/ product. Hopefully it goes well and there's more made for different machines. External link below. 23. Someone needs to make a local version of KLOVs VAPS list, where people can list their collection and include information such as whether they would sell. Having the ability to use and search something like this Australia wide would be great! A database of reputable overseas sellers and sea freight providers would also be good as people could head down this path as well if they couldn’t find what they wanted locally

  24. It’s great that someone’s bringing in Candy cabs @dragonlee - I’m assuming the regular east coast buyers aren’t really known to this forum? I’m feeling a bit like @DRAGONKZ and not seeing where all these candies are being bought and sold. I recall now you listed some cabs a while back, but don’t recall the prices. What’s your definition of “big bucks”? Why are you assuming that your prices are out of peoples price range? Maybe you just can’t articulate what you mean? Do you mean people generally aren’t willing to pay what you’re asking for your cabs?

  31. Hi, I wanted to do this one up one day but have decided not to. It looks like it may have the wrong back glass as it says apollo 9. Has cool zip flippers. I think it is all there at least all the main bits are. I think it may be missing a reset coil on the ball count. It will come with 4 legs but maybe no bolts. No playfield glass. I do not have a clue what a project machine is worth, so $650. If i get motivated i will get my son to put it on marketplace. Thought i would start here. Thanks for reading.

  32. Pessimeister: 12, 590 What a fun little game. Plays like a mixture between Space Invaders, Lunar Lander and even Choplifter. The collision detection might have me shedding what little hair I have left once the two weeks are over though. 🙂 Combines well with some nice space synth in the background.

  36. Since I'm pretty new here and missed your original writeup/video over at arcade projects, this is absolutely stunning mate what a pristine and beautiful cabinet. The way you did those CP overlays and how you got the artwork done was really impressive they honestly look amazing. With all the fresh wiring/clean up and how meticulous you were with every part of this project I'm absolutely blown away! I continue to be inspired by the things this community can achieve. I bet your still smitten with how this turned out Giga, nice one mate! -Tom

  37. So there it is folks. That was all finished in Aug 2020. I've made a few small minor changes but it's been working well. I haven't changed the monitor out as once I'm playing the games I don't notice the flaws that much. These cabs are perfect for those who want to convert to console use and don't know much about the world of CRT candy cabs. Hopefully you get inspired from what I've done, and get in touch if I can help you out in any way with your Lindbergh project.
