  1. 243420 Spent 10 days learning and working on this one and checking back here at all your scores. What an intense race happening at the top! over 400k score too, madness. It took me 9 days to break 200k, and I only managed it twice still. When you have a good game, DANG it feels good, but the levels of frustration that come from a bad game? Limitless. Lol. Meet you all on the next game! If anyone wanted to make a video of an over 300k score, I'd love to see it for analysis of your play style! This game has almost nothing online in terms of videos or scores.

  2. 520,860 Changed my strategy completely from the guide I wrote a few years ago. I go after everything now. My target for the first seven rounds is 30k plus per round or it’s a restart. Also take a lot more risk to get all four dinosaurs on each round. It’s worth it.

  3. Day 17 of 17 ... Final standings ... Lasso was a hit for SNK in the early 80s. It was very different to shmups and mazes, with a cowboy feel and a sense of humour. The dragon in the well is quite bizarre, and the animals prance about as if taunting you as the gamer. Using the lasso is even more tricky. But fun it is, once you get the handle of the rope, and how to manage the wolves. Congratulations to the Top 10 for scoring over 240K on this oddity. At the top, it was quite manic on the last 2 days. ZNC scored 352K, then Pessimeister topped that with 391K, then Terence topped that with a blinding 442K with just over 4 hours to go. What excellent competition. With time running out, Bigredbird scored 520,860 points to win Game 6. It was a brilliant performance under pressure. He took his chances with skill and strategy, to win his 8th all time MGL game in 23 x MGL tournaments. Wonderful effort Bigredbird! Blood Brothers, Rally Bike and Andro Dunos are all currently in play. All of these games have never been played before in the MGL. Two new games will be released next week, to start the final journey of this amazing tournament.

  9. If you're interested in just chilling and watching the song light shows without playing , the jukebox node has a lights setting so you can watch the insane light sequences with the songs.

  11. Well, after a massive hiatus I got back into it today. Sanded down the enamel primer to smooth it all out and then dad sprayed on the first two coats of gloss white with his spray gun. It's not a professional job, but it's a damn sight better than some of the rattle can jobs I have seen on candy cabs. Didn't bother properly matching the colour to the auto paint colour, mainly as the auto paint was insanely expensive. I just went with a gloss white enamel. Came up looking great. Now that the cab is painted, when it dries, I will move it back to my garage and start working on the internals. Oh, and ignore the painted over lock on the door. I don't have keys and I couldn't be assed drilling it today. So we just sprayed over the top. It will be drilled and replaced with another lock down the track.

  12. If you are not able to do any required repairs/upgrades I HIGHLY recommend Ken in Newcastle. He is a long time AA sponsor and a top of the tree pinball tech. You would need to remove the boards and post them to him but as long as you number the connectors with a texta they are easy to replace. You can find Ken in the sponsor section of the site. 13. a small update. matte black alone marks real easy so a trial coat of clear on the rear of the backbox gives it a deeper black look, sort of satin, and protection. the trim that holds the backglass in at the top was missing also, so a close match was put in after @thegrunta666 trimmed it to the correct depth/width. some sanding to remove the oil splash from the nail gun, filling and more sanding then some more paint.

  16. Cool, Interesting to note, Jukebox vs gameplay light show is way different. The machine really comes alive during gameplay. Katz and team out did themselves on this one, Pure Genius Though the shine has been tarnished by playfield woes, I believe the Aussie batch to be sound. My CE 404 playfields were manufactured Dec 27 last year and Jan 27 this year. clear on both is hard and like glass. It appears that some early CE batches may be problematic ? From what I have read early LE's may be hit and miss ? Perhaps a reason never to be in a hurry for a new title, lucky we come close to the tail end of manufacturing here in most cases. This gives the builders opportunity to sort out problems. Super happy with mine its mint, I did wait and was not going to play without bulletproofing. Peace of mind. Many thanks to the bulletproofing brains trust. 404 is BOLTED to the Floor !! JJP GnR kicks ass ! Holds its own against my 3 mad Sterns.

  19. You need to turn the screen adjustment pot on the flyback down. The massively oversaturated brightness and retrace lines (the horizontal lines on the screen) are caused by the screen pot being turned up too high. Your colours need a lot of adjustment also, you may actually be missing a colour gun on the chassis/tube. Hard to tell with the screen the way it is currently. Turn the flyback down first, then start slowly adjusting brightness. I recommend reading a basic guide on how to adjust a CRT. Watch this as a starting point, it covers the basics.

  25. Spent some time on the public holiday to configure the monitor. Here's the cross stitch of the monitor before any convergence work.. After about two hours worth of mucking around and me $h**ting myself, this was the best I could do (also ran out of convergence strips) The bottom left could probably use another one or two strip, but there's definitely a difference on all corners, especially the top left! In game, it's a lot more forgivable and nowhere near as noticeable as it used to be. Of course, the back view 🙂 - yep, I got happy with silicone. I really don't want to be taking this monitor out anytime soon She's finally back in the cab and I had a good gaming session on Wednesday night. Was about to drop a few coins on it yesterday until this happened..... Turned the cab on, noticed something was off when I saw the monitor and upon checking the colour chart... blue channel is missing!! FMD it just doesn't stop! This cab really hates me! hahah At this point in time, given the history of this cab, I almost rage quit and threw in the towel, but I stepped away for 10 mins, regathered as I knew I had a spare neck board for this chassis - I already came across this issue with the other blast city and I replaced the neck board. Back on the "workbench" (aka floor :D), I desoldered the two wires on the neck board and swapped them around. Turned it on and voila! I got blue but no red! ARRRGGGHHHHH My last resort before emailing Joey was to reflow the 3 transistors responsible for the 3 rgb channels on the neck board. Turned the cab back on with the reflowed neck board and bob's your uncle! Everything is back to normal! Thank f**k for that! Got her installed again (back didn't like it) and dumped a few credits on DOJ! For now, arcade universe is balanced again and I really hope there's no more challenges for this blast city ever. I've been told by a few people to sell it off, but given the amount of work I've put in, it'll most likely be sticking around for a few years 😄

  31. I don't believe the Pinball Arcade has the provision to map buttons. Some people use work arounds such as https://www.x360ce.com/ but I never really bothered with Pinball Arcade as I found Visual Pinball to be much better. The Pinball FX games play better when set up right in my opinion too. If it's a commercially built cab, then no doubt they would have used licenced software and therefore you should have proper support

  32. I hope so! One thing you can do to check is start the game, get into service mode (F2), select 'SETTING UP THE SOFT DIP', then select 'SLOT1 ANDRO DUNOS', then change the CONTINUE setting to WITHOUT - note that normally buttons 1 & 2 will change values in NeoGeo BIOS, and button 3 will go back to the previous screen. So change the setting, press button 3 a couple of times, then select EXIT - the game should start up again. Then Esc out of the game, restart, and go back into Service Mode. If NVRAM has been successfully disabled with the empty file, your CONTINUE setting should be back at its default setting of INFINTE. In other words, the game settings were NOT saved, and it looks like our fix has worked. Fingers crossed...

  34. SUCCESS! Today I found the final break in the wiring loom (four in total) also found a short circuit in the 10 point score reel, a EOS switch on a score reel mounted upside down, three new coils, so many bad solder joints, POP Bumper wasn't wired up to a new switch the list just goes on & on. Anyway we have a new pin day...... Finally All that's needed now is to fix the backglass paint, align the flipper arms & make the targets reset work smoothly, but now the game is working and the rest is basically house keeping.

  35. We always ran twin slot machines with the two outer slots used. Not only does it look better, you can link them to display one coin total. Bit of trivia, the left slot gets used nearly twice as much as the right if they are both the same value. ( Human nature I guess). LAI WPC supplied machines all came with the multicoin slot on the left and the $1 only coin slot on the right for this exact reason. Paragon was 40c for 5 balls or 20c for 3 balls originally. if you wanted. It was around this time with Ballys were you started getting multiple coin options plates in the envolope. Prior to this it was just your standard 2 spare 20c 1 play. These are most that were avaliable Aussie wise to suit SS. The dollar ones started appearing around Dolly Parton after the US dollar diamond started appearing on the front door. I was using the dollar ones for the center in my machines when A$1 coin mechs become standard but when Bally started supplying such inserts originally, there was no Aussie $1 coin mechs. Slight oversite by the Yanks I guess.
