Many of us have heard all that before, multiple times. As @pinballaddicted wrote above, day 1 orders from October 2020 are yet to arrive. Whilst the majority of it is down to JJP & COVID related shipping congestion delays. I cannot see how an order that is placed now will arrive in October of this year, based on what has transpired to date. If it does, that will be terrific for anyone that has recently ordered or is about too. Just don't be too disappointed if October comes and goes and you aren't enjoying your new GnR pinball machine.

Fear not mates The show must go on!!!! Although restrictions extending for another week is an absolute kick in the guts for BPAC and the hospitality and events industry in general, it does not spell the end for BPAC. Due to the enormity of the Brewdog event space we have the floor capacity to cater for near 200 people each day. There will be two very clear rules though. The playing area will be food and drink free for the first week. The outdoor area, which by this time tomorrow will have several marquees, chairs, high tables and stools, will be the drinking and eating area provided you are sitting down. Secondly, you will of course have to wear a mask unless you have a written exemption. If you have any questions or concerns please shoot an email to gday@bnepac.org. Keep an eye on the BPAC Instagram and Facebook as we will do a post on where to park, how to enter the space, where to collect your passes/lanyards etc Brisbane Pinball Club at Netherworld will run with similar rules. Assuming this is all true (as it doesn't mention it in the Bally Wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bally_Manufacturing)), is this common knowledge in the pinball community? That the 'Mob' bailed out Bally from going under? Does that mean we wouldn't have had those 90's era machines if it wasn't for the mob? Or would Williams have made them anyway on their own? :unsure Start watching from 1:08:00.

Egret29 restoration: Picked this up from a fellow Aa member part of trade. This cabinet was given away as a freebie years ago to another Aa member without a control panel,marquee,internal wiring etc etc. Big task for me was to build a replica or prototype control panel for the cabinet from copying the original from my collection.Not perfect but it was close enough. The prototype will be going to the metal fabricator to copy it.🤣 Missing the original glass bezel which I’ve fabricated a new one by using acrylic Perspex. Added a blue surround for the monitor. I had a spare rotational mechanism which I’ve added. Customised artwork coming to finish it off. Totally re-wired inside with new jamma harness and Psu. So far this what I have done to the restoration. Enjoy the pictures.

@spaceballs If you do find the adhesive isn’t what it use to be they’re not a total loss, so don’t throw them out, just apply low tack adhesive from an aerosol. I have used spray can adhesive in making my own stencils in the past.

I should have replied to this sooner, That is a TV tube not an arcade tube, Horizontal Yoke with this value 1.9 ohm & 1.118 mH is designed specifically for CGA ( 15.75Khz ) use, it can be used with certain chassis modification to operated on 25K EGA but it can't be used for VGA at all, if you try a VGA on this tube is will burn out the horizontal deflection circuit in most cases instantly. Thomson tubes like this are quite often mistaken for the Thomson tube used in arcade machines with Wells Gardner 27D9200 or 27D9400 chassis which are CGA, EGA, VGA and EVGA (15~38K ) . These tubes and chassis are failing or have already failed at an alarming rate, the D9200 was a disaster from the start, the D9400 Pure Flat screen version was a nice looking monitor when they were released but 9 out of 10 now are way past their design life and beyond repair.

I'm guessing he's not on planning to die anytime soon so I'd wait and that's what I did with my jp. I could have paid $600 more for used, no warranty, shipping and less options . I waited 6 months instead and am still on this planet........ Just 😂

I’m unsure about the Rottendog option too as are a fan of the original. Im sure there good boards but I’m going to get the one I have looked at and visit Mr Pinball!

I believe he is in QLD at the moment and heading down sometime next week. Ive got 12 cabs in VIC that he will start bringing up, and he mentioned it’s 1-2 weeks before he’s likely to be there. Try messaging him on Facebook if you need specific info/timeframes :)

Yes all going well, people should be getting games Mid Sept ? for the first 2 containers shipped. I was keen to go in when this was first announced as the release coincided with my 50th, I decided not too, and thought I would miss out and sort of regretted it. Knowing they are still available and hearing a lot of good things about this game I decided to pull the pin. Probably worked out well waiting as I may of still been waiting if I had ordered Oct 2020, quite excited now.

Hmm, The photos of the boards don't show surface mounts.Claims they are creating boards from Original Williams Gerber files. Only thing I see different on the WPC89 board is the Replacement of the LM323k regulator with the Switching regulator from EzSBC

Afternoon mates Just under 4 hours until we open the doors to BPAC 2021!! Bit of housekeeping for all ya'll. Please allow an extra 15-30 minutes to arrive as there is a COVID testing facility on the same street as Brewdog so queues to the centre can inhibit fast entry times. Park in the front car park and enter through the main entrance to Brewdog and be sure to sign in and have your mask on. Head down the hallway on the right hand side of the bar to find the sexiest slice of pinball and arcade heaven on planet earth this weekend. See the friendly volunteers at the check in desk to collect your swag bag and lanyard if you have a Spike pass or ticket to either Kong Off or Masters. Then grab a beer and play your damned soul out. Remember that the playing floor is drink and food free and we are in the process of setting up an outdoor area for all your needs. Out of respect to the amazing crew at Brewdog who have been incredibly accommodating with all our crazy ideas, we ask that you be extra vigilant with your masks, using hand sani and abiding by the wet and dry area rules. Also across the weekend it is absolutely free for friends and family to come to the space to watch the event. If they want to play any of the available free play machines they must get a pink wristband for $10. Be safe mates. See you tonight!!!!!!!

Well this is what he wrote, I would think this year means 2021 If you ordered now you would get a game October / November this year. The games now have been rectified and they have put protection in the areas of concern. It is a $1,500 dollar deposit to secure one and the balance is due pre delivery to you. Hope this helps Paul

Hey mate thanks for the msg back. I was hoping you would pick it up 😜 ​​​​​​ yeah my thoughts were to address the the clock issue and then hopefully the ROMs would be ok. But I was just planning for the worse incase there were any issues with those old 2708 ROMs and I would be stuck. So in absence of a schematic for the non 'a' revision it may be a suck it and see kind of approach I think. I've had a look around everywhere and haven't seen any schematics for the non 'a' revision. I think if different ROMs are required it may just have to be a case of strapping for the 'a' board and hoping that it is the same

Hi, Gamedude Computers https://www.gamedude.com.au/products/c-64 have C64 accessories including over voltage protectors to use with original supplies. I have seen a sealed original supply with both 9VAC and 5VDC well over - voltage though so it's not always as simple as just replacing capacitors, that transformer would have to have had shorted windings to achieve that and would fail completely before too long anyway if that was the case. Nobody here seems to stock complete replacement supplies for the C64 which isn't surprising - although they are fairly easy to make, such items cannot be sold in Australia without undergoing an expensive approval process. One solution which is simple and not too expensive for diy is to use a 9V AC 1A (transformer) Plug-pack and a 5V DC 2A or 3A (switchmode) Plug-pack and connect each to the respective pins of a 7 pin Din plug. These are all available new from Jaycar or other local suppliers and already have the relevant approvals. Regards, John

The proper thread that should have been started is the class action sign up thread. I remember one being initiated for the stern gb ghosting issue. That problem seems trivial compared to this

Depending on which power supply type you have, sometimes they can be repaired and sometimes not. The first thing you want to do is check if your power supply can be opened up easily. Some are glued together and the components potted in potting compound making them damn near impossibly to do anything with. If you are lucky enough to have a unit which can be opened and repaired, replacing the electrolytic caps will be the minimum you would want to do. Check the c64 wiki which shows the pinouts and voltages you should expect to see on the pins of the connector. If the 5v is reading around 5.2v or higher, the unit is failing and should not be connected to the c64 or you risk damaging the c64. Most people I know that collect these things tend to just build their own power supply to replace the original ones. The only need +5v at around 1.5A and 9v AC at around 1A. Yer water powered cars is a the holy grail but no, this is simply using a internal combustion motor as a steam engine without building the whole engine, just the boiler and I've sorted the boiler, a caravan gas bottle. Rated at 500psi and has a pressure release valve built in so shouldn't explode although I'd put in another lower rated pressure release in as well. Seems the major problem I can see is rust....Maybe soluble oil or boiler oil would solve this. I also intend on simplifing the design. Steam goes in the sparkplug hole using the soloniod valve idea of the first guy and steam comes out a hole drilled in the bottom of the combustion chamber after the piston goes down below it. Now you don't need valves or a valve train, just take out the pushrods.
