We played on relatively old code also... 1.06? I think, now up to 1.14 Bluetooth works great with any device, lag is almost unnoticeable. Also updating through wifi was very easy and fast with no problems. Simple and cheap tech these days but good to see it added here.6 points

Haha. Nice. Loved the shots on this game. Light show is excellent and I still get “vision wobble even with the glasses. On WoZ it goes away. For the record, none of the bolts were loose and we only had to tweak the right flipper alignment a tiny bit. Most would not have noticed. Played as is setting out of box , except for adult mode. Had leg levellers on back wound half way up. Plays nice and not floaty. Left ramp is backhanded easily, both Bass and guitar shots can be made directly depending on ramp entry angles. Drum sticks ramp also easily backhanded. Centre hole shot was easy, no rejects and can also be rebounded into from right flipper. Inner loop to bumpers is a sweet shot and can also be rebounded into from right flipper. Only played 2 games but want to play much more.3 points

I worked it out. The pots on the Chinese VGA converter card when set at 100 (all the way up) are completely unbalanced RGB colours. So it was turn green down a little turn red up, turn blue a little etc etc untiI got it pretty much how I want it. To it really was the VGA adapter. Here is a low res crappy image from a stream but you can see the green is nice and dark.1 point

So my EM has a bell but no chimes.... I find everyone has an idea about who to contact but No one has these or don't want to sell them??? So my thoughts are to see who may have, or want to get involved in getting some? To date I have spoken to about 10 repairers and or parts suppliers and have really been told they are great and will enhance the machine and playing experience. DUR:rolleyes Basically I have found only 1 option and I'm looking to see if there is a market for these seemingly overpriced chime units. I can't seem to pay good money for an original one and don't seem to see these for sale (which seems rare) until there sold... This is an option that seems to pop up. https://www.chimeunit.com/ Has anyone used these and are they right for the job. I have not mentioned the machine thus I need these for a Gottlieb 1970 single player Baseball EM. 3 chime unit. Is anyone interested in maybe sharing costs as due to the weight it should be possible to order approx 5 at a time and the freight will be the same. 2 week approx build date, plus postage plus lockdown 14 days upon arrival :lol So an order may be sometime this year... Approx cost is 129 Euro per unit plus postage....that's around $200 each as the current exchange price and postage is close to $100 if I have worked this out correctly. Any thoughts appreciated Any Australian option consider it practically sold...:cool:1 point

Yeah mine arrived with 1.08 loaded and played a few games before updating to 1.14. Updating over wifi is so easy and quick, much prefer this to using a USB.1 point

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it it’s been tried many times in the past when they have tried new concepts which have been major flops and it’s been proven that the majority just like things the way they are1 point

grew up on EM's in the 70's and to go to a billiard hall and play Williams Phoenix with those pointy flippers and sounds that appealed to me, and my favourite Flash....can't really give a particular year, but the mid 70's to early 80's.1 point

Looking at a purely manufacturing numbers perspective (from IPDB production numbers which don't necessarily cover all manufacturers), looks like 1978 was the bumper year, with a second spike in 1992. Shame that we don't have more data for modern manufacturers... yet :) This chart includes data for each manufacturer with > 15k total machines manufactured.1 point

I only have new sterns. I do have issues regularly say every 300 games, but I don't class them as such as I think I know what causes them. Generally it's to do with drop targets and optos. I need to reseat plugs. Comon denominator is shaker motor. I had less issues with older games as they had no shaker. Also before adding a shaker to both met and twd I didn't have target problems.1 point

Available on ebay for aprox $10 each. Just a heads up on these cheap Chinese power supplies in case you were thinking of using them on any projects. As on any cost cutting cheap product, Components are minimal and often run hot which causes failure. Beware, When these fail they cause a short across the mains which is quite spectacular. I had two fail (spectacularly) before I realized a bad diode was shorting the 5v line.1 point

Because Pete, Unlike polluted China we have EVRYTHING they could ever want, SPACE, CLEAN AIR. FRESH SPARKLING WATER, FRESH FOOD, URANIUM, IRON, MINERALS, SEAFOOD, COAL, BABY FOOD & TOILET PAPER. We have the lot, so why buy it if you can just take ownership of it.1 point
