b1807
Hi all this is my first visit for some time as have been waylaid with nasty matters. Any how. I’ve noticed there’s not a lot of pinnys for sake, either here or in the usual retail haunts. is this an apparition?

peely
Shit ton of newbies with 10k super cheques too. Many legitimately need that money but the spike in spending suggests many don’t

peely
Some of those threads are gold @Koops . When you could buy Totans, TZs and IJ for 4-5k and shadows/Congo must have been about $1500 and peeps were complaing about over priced pins. This is one of the comments from 2007... "But I am wondering whether there will be many people who actually want to own a pinball machine in 10-20 years time, when people like us are retiring, selling up, and running out of room." Pie Chucker
The Government is giving away more money than it actually has and the cashed up people are spending it on toys, as there isn't much else to spend it on... Which also means that fewer people are selling pins because they need the cash for something else.
Jfed
I also think a part of it is that some people are no longer going on that overseas holiday and probably wont be for a while so buying a pin for at home instead. Seems to be lots of new buyers buying for the first time. Personally I know 3 people who have purchased pins for the first time due to canceled holidays and more time spent at home. Tristan Ford
As mentioned above, people selling between them selves/buying off mates, stuff on gumtree/facebook is gone in hours, even items over $10k.... Govt let people access there super, i think quite a few people will get a shock when they realise they weren't eligible for that super and need to sell there pinball machine. Then again I'm not sure if the government will do anything as it's ROBODEBT all over again and that worked out well the first time...
Tristan Ford
On a side note, someone offered me $8k+ for my congo and i said no... But picked up an NBA Fastbreak for $3500... :)
Tristan Ford
On a side, side note.... It's not just AUS prices... machines in US have gone up. Machines coming out of Europe have gone up and to make matters worse our $$ is bad at the moment :'(
Cooked71
On a side, side note.... It's not just AUS prices... machines in US have gone up. Machines coming out of Europe have gone up and to make matters worse our $$ is bad at the moment :'( Definitely a drought for publicly listed games and/or games at “reasonable prices. Seems to be a lot of new money in the hobby with different price expectations probably based on the ever increasing price of NIB games. People that had the space to hold on to big collections for the past 10 years would be very happy at the moment.
Railways
Case in point. I just sold a Bally Vector for my asking price to a fella that hasn't played a pin in 30 years. The game when advertised was noted by a long time AA member up our way who had been asked to look out for a pin that was reasonabaly priced. Apparently this instruction came from mrs. X as she thought it would be great to celebrate the up coming Mr. X birthday party. Anyhoo, The guys were on my doorstep very early Monday morning, cash in hand, I gave them a 101 tutorial on basics like a stuck ball and off they went. Bottom line is I needed the room. I've had my fun with that game. Fixed a few things on it and now someone else is having fun with it. I did warn him though, "It never stops at one " :lol
