Noob question Translite

antali2

Question

Some of are going to laugh at this but I need to know,

What is a translite NOS.

I thought they were the glass for the head box on a pinball machine but none of the ones on Ebay have clear areas for the score counters and they are advertised as "Looks great hanging on your games room wall"

Have fun with your reply's but I do want a real answer.:redface

Hi,

They are just that - replacment pinball head box 'art work'.. NOS = New Old Stock which could mean original or reproduced.. Not all pinball translites need the cutout for the scores etc as the newer pins have the DM (Dot Matrix) scroes / displays.. The ones listed on Ebay will fit into the original pinball headbox perfectly.

i thought NOS meant they were original and not reproduced , hence the expression new old stock, that is new pieces of stock originally made at the time the game was produced.

correct me if I am wrong.

That's my understanding also. That's what it means for car parts.

Out if interest was it any good?

The plastic mold is fine, although it wont stand up on it's own :rolleyes . The paint job was pretty bad/rushed. Hench why I've since attacked it with Goof-Off2, Im about half way removing the paint.

I can take a few pics if you want.

It was from this bloke (Fun) from the States:

I remember talking to Bretty yonks ago about his stuff.
