Ive been busy over the last few weeks doing a restoration on a Stern Trident pinnie.

I have totally stripped it, sanded back the cab & resprayed it.

Thanks must go to Darksoul & his DVD for many helpfull tips, some that worked, some that didnt. ;)

Thanks to the others who have helped so far as well. :D

Its not as good as some of the other guys work, but I think its OK for a first attempt :lol

Heres a pic, what do you think?

Well it looks fine to me. Do you have a before shot because I bet it's 200% better than that..:D

LOL your right

Thats why I wasnt to worried about having a go at it.

I figured anythings got to be better than what it was.

I will post more updates as I go along.

What type of paint did u use? Is it low sheen?

First of all I ripped the cab back to bare timber with a belt sander then gave it a go over with an orbital, giving me a good surface to work with.

I then used Dulux 1 step primer, sealer & undercoat 'prepcoat' white.

I then used Taubmans 'Ultra enamel' High gloss enamel tinted to the colours.

I used:

1 litre of prepcoat.

750 ml of the blue

150 ml each of the magenta & teal.

That looks great!!

The blue base colour looks a tad bright or something to me. But i'm probably used to seeing faded and chalky looking ones lol

Do you have a nice backglass for it?. Never seen a Trident that had a decent glass. They all seemed to flake like buggery.

The blue & magenta were colour matched from original paint from under the side rail, so it had no fade.:unsure

The backglass isnt too bad, minor flaking along the bottom edge, Im yet to see one that isnt.
