It might take some time but you could retouch it.
the hardest part will be the type.
You could try a fine art restorer if you wanted to spend some $$$

None of these pictures look like problems. They are "challenges".

Never "bin a pin"... At the very least, learn how to restore artwork, starting with this playfield.

Start off by sourcing some scans / or read up on playfield restoration

                ok

Yeah im going to have a good go at it...

Im sure i can make some photoshop scans to
put on the playfield like darksoul did in the video
but I think he uses Mylar over the playfield
                Not sure about that
maybe mylar could be the way to go???

Similar to what I'm doing to my Funhouse, you could probably airbrush alot of the areas ie that red area down the bottom. Being geometric shapes it would be easy to mask off and spray (rather than 'touch up' a small spot, you repaint the entire area)

First thing I'd do is strip it completely (the parts, not the playfield paint ) and clean it up and see what you've got.

Next suggestion is to READ as much as you can ie a google group search and read Clay's guides here:
                  http://www.marvin3m.com/fix.htm
                  http://www.pinrepair.com/restore/
BEEP BEEP Richie! They ALL float down here. When your down here with us, you'll float too!

                    reading rocks

I needed to touch up a Super star playfield - used acrylics with a brush rather than an airbrush

but Mickey is right - start by stripping the playfield and cleaning it - you need to match colours with the cleaned playfield - not the dirty colours

                      ..

yeah I dont have an airbrush
as the pics Im on my way to stripping and cleaning

the red area down the bottom is white with red writing
                      but is completely gone

thats one area along with the 50 points logos that Ive been thinking about
doing a photo shop and print job and try and stick to the playfield
I think it would look better than trying to paint the numbers and letters on by hand..

another option for the type is to get rub down lettering from a hobby shop.

                        www.letraset.com

comes in lots of colours and sizes

looks like theydo custom work as well

Not sure but in new zealand you can get at art shops who supply the design industry.

Not a huge range of fonts, but most early games used simple font.

Cant remember the name of the shop but there is a shop in center sydney near the
post office, they may stock it

                              ...

Ok well Im just over halfway through my touchups...

                              Im not going overboard

just touching it up best i can in the worse spots

then not going to clear-cote or anything

just give it 3 or 4 layers of wax
