Fish Tales
Decided to clean-up the FT topper today, and replace bulbs. Struck me that blue globes may give a water glow, gotta be better than white anyway. Had some testors model paint in the shed, and thinned it down with turps prob 50/50 (to allow enough light through the bulb glass). Easy job to paint, held them upside-down in a peg (to aviod paint dripping on to the bulb's metal contacts). Yep I need a new bubble for my topper, but that can wait. I think it looks ok: http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e260/Gwind/fitblue002.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e260/Gwind/fitblue001.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e260/Gwind/fitblue003.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e260/Gwind/fitblue005.jpg IPDB pic of a normal FT topper: http://mirror1.ipdb.org/images/861/image-19.jpg

MrMaloo
Nice job Greg . And don't worry we won't tell your wife where all the missing pegs have gone ... Was the blue paint a "translucent blue" to start with or is it normal paint just thinned out a lot . pinball god
Looks great. Have you tried glass paint, it may give you a richer blue as you can dip the globe in several times to intensify the colour. It may also avoid getting the bulbs too hot as well??? It may also avoid getting the bulbs too hot as well??? I did the flashers in the cloud topper in my Addams Family that way (blue lightning in the clouds for the multiball sequence:)). One or two dips of the globe in the pot of glass paint, with the globe attached to a clothes peg (same method as EB:cool:) and they came out great. Fish Tales
I just noticed the blue light has made his eye stand-out more. Yes glass paint prob better, but I didnt plan this. I just used what I had in the shed. Its a dark blue paint Scott, I thinned it down at least 50/50.

Shock_And_Awe
You can take the "lazy man's" route and buy globes already done such as these..... http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=2&pg=
