  • Superman pinball finished FINALLY!!

Finally finished my Superman tonight. Apart from a few little tweeks and a little bit of cosmetic crap, she is done!!!!!!

Compare some of the original pics here:

    To the finished ones:

    What I did:

    Remade the backglass
Re-stencilled the cabinet (bigger job that I thought it would be)
Fixed the electronics (a relay and a few resistors, transistors and caps)
Stripped the side rails and legs, resprayed them
    De-mylared the playfield
    Removed the glue from playfield
    Minor playfield touchups
    Re levelled inserts
    Made new insert overlay stickers
Re-made the "building" plastic on the drop targets
Replaced flipper coils, a few rollovers, re-made the pop bumpers

She was a labour of love.

I only paid $200 for it. She was a junker, only the playfield was good.

I've spent about $450-$500 on it over 12 months as parts came along on eBay or I tracked down a seller.

    Onto my next project:

    Roller Disco.

    Hi Brad,

Well done on the Superman another top job.

Is that El Dorado in the background, I thought that was long gone.

            That looks excellent.
Its obvious plenty of hard work has gone into it.
            Congratulations.

Still have bad memories of playing that in the late 70s/early 80s. Swallowed plenty of my meagre apprentice pay.

You want to buy it?........................without trying to sell it back to me a week later because your wife kicked your arse all over the house for buying it without telling her.

I am just about to start my Charlies Angels repaint. The bloke next door owns his own sign company, and I asked him today if his plotter will cut cardboard, as i was going to "stencil" the art work on.

He came and had a look and told me to take a digital photo and some cab measurements and he will vector it and cut me a set of low adhesive paint masks for it ....for free.

I asked him how much for anyone else and he told me about $100. I dont know if that is a good price or not.

I also asked about printing cabinet decals, quoting some o/s prices and he said they are abot $120 per sq metre.
