Rock Ola 474 problem

I have a Rock Ola 474 and it has a hopefully not too big problem.

When inputting a selection, the left side arm of the selector stops at the right spot but it won't activate the switch, this results in the right side arm is not stopping where it is supposed therefore the search for the record goes on and on without resolution.

When you open up the machine and press a selection manually and not through the keys, it works fine.

It is suspected that the earth contact on the wheel is not doing its job but could there be any other possibilities?

there are 2 coils there maybe not energising or burnt out

Looks like a strong possibility, are replacements easy to obtain?

no i hand rewound mine

We'll be rewounding them all by the looks.

The song selector isn't working properly too, you can put the first two selections in but nothing happens when the third number is punched in so we'll have to take a look at that issue too and hopefully those two issues are the only ones to deal with.

get a multi meter and check resistance
