  • The recent Blood Moon

In case anyone else is a fan of amazing celestial happenings, here's a few pics I took of the recent Perigee / Blood moon.

The last two are of eclipse totality - the beautiful Blood Moon

Notice it's 'upside down' compared to northern hemisphere pics?

Up and down are pretty meaningless concepts in space.

From Brisvegas the Moon was eaten by Scorpio....
And my eyes were as red as the moon and closed by midnight....
Me and the bloke up the street sat and talked shit whilst we watched the show....

You're 100% correct, but just to clarify, that's why they're in 'quotes' and I was obviously referring to our reference frames on both hemispheres, not out in space.

                      But again, you're 100% correct.

I noticed it looked flat too, regardless of the hemispheres, but round nonetheless.

It is a nice thread. They are really good HD pictures, I noticed a white light just beneath the blood moon pic is that a satellite, a star, another planet?
