They make new versions of the old nokia flip phones. My Dad got one about a year ago and has had no complaints.

Aldi has an unlocked Samsung A11 for $149 this week. I got one for my dad. Then got Kogan 365 day plan which has about 8gb data per 30days for $130. If you just want a basic mobile phone, as others have said, the smokes counter at Woolies or Coles.

        Phones for Seniors

Stay connected to family and friends easily with our selection of mobile phones aimed at elderly customers. Featuring larger buttons, loud ringers and high contrast screens, these phones are simple to use and don’t give you a whole lot of features you may not use.

have you considered two tin cans and a really long piece of string. I don't think there's listening devices for those yet so you should be safe.

Just bought a Realme C3 for $89 at Officeworks. They have a fairly good selection which you can browse and buy immediately.
