NES region lockout help ?

Does anyone have a basic guide or a link to somewhere as I wanna attempt this mod.

 

From what I have found though its something to do with NES80 chip and pin 4 ?

 

If anyone can help me further I would be most grateful.

Hope it's not too late - did this the other day/week/something, snip the leg on the chip as close to the PCB as practical and lift the leg away with some needle-nosed pliers so it's not touching the bit left in the PCB; letting the leg float should take care of it, but it's better to tie it to the ground so solder a wire between it and any spot on the mobo that ties to GND. Pretty sure I whipped out the multimeter and found a GND point nearby that did the job, though mmmonkey's guide should suffice.

i cut mine with a pair of sidecutters :) its simple as shit to do and works a charm
