  • neo geo 6 slotter restoration

thought id start a topic since this one is getting some work done

    http://www.aussiearcade.com/attachme...3&d=1249295558

atm its got no monitor and chassis because im getting a new one from joey

it came with the following carts:

    metal slug 2
    aggressors of dark combat
    fatal fury 2
    power spikes 2
    baseball stars professional

last week i picked up off ebay art of fighting, king of fighters 94,world heroes and super side kicks 2

ive been missing my neo since i sold it to fund the pinnie so replaced that one w.e with a neo single slot cab. Then the next day pickup this beast

just bought puzzle bobble and ghost pilots super dirt cheap in the UK about 1/2 hr ago . Puzzle bobble will get me in the good books with the wife

cons with this cab so far are to sort:

    el marquee stuffed as expected
the monitor decided to give up

not much ill be doing just basics like new buttons ect the overlay isnt to bad atm and some how replace the el panels to suit

cant wait to try out ghost pilots as i fancy the neo shumps

hehe I just gave away a red Neo Geo 6 slot cabinet with 25" monitor (that is on it's way out) that's exactly like that one to a local friend. They make a good general JAMMA cab but they are heavy as hell. I was itching to get it outta here so I can move in some decent games that are sitting in my garage.

        Puzzle Bobble = Aceness.
Beaten only by Magical Drop 3.

I keep *trying* to like Ghost Pilots. (Reminds me of Flying Shark.)
        But--the-sprites--are--too--big.

Can't stand games where the sprites are too big...
...and having a vertical shmup + a horizontal screen + big sprites was a really crazy design decision IMHO.

well got the new tube and chassis today

a bit of cursing and swearing atm to get it in since the tv tube lugs are slightly larger than the original tube

bit of bending so far has the lug part sorted i just need to shave a bit of the wood mount to get the tube right down.

what a mission to get it sorted had enough for tonite

Good luck m8. A facelift should do this one good.

well i got the tube in at last

some slight shaving of the mounts since the lugs were a few mm bigger and bent up the ends of the lugs also. Its in snug as a bug and wont move one bit she is that snug

will tinker more on the w.e once im home again but its all good now.
