  • Looking for 20" Arcade Monitors

A friend and I are looking to build a couple a couple of lowboys from some old cabinets with the help of a mate.
Yet all 20 inch monitors here in Newcastle are sold out, so we're needing to track a couple down...

Anyone know of somewhere that'd sell 'em in Newcastle or perhaps Sydney?

Have you tried Highway? They're in Newcastle.
...maybe, but then again "maybe" covers a lot of things, like: maybe Michael Jackson really is LaToya in drag, or maybe if Dorothy clicks her heels 3 times and says "There's no place like home" while she is at home, she would telefrag herself..." - MadMikeAU

find 19in tv's and get a universal chassis from jomac

should be able to pick up Tv for next to nothing +$145 for a new chassis

The 19" might be a good option if I cant get any 20"'s.

I haven't bought the 2 cabinets yet, although i can get them once i know i can get monitors for them. Would 21" fit into the little lowboys ok?
What would be the cost for two including chassis?

Pretty hard to fit a 21" VGA monitor (decased) into a lowbow, so I would imagine the same would be for an arcade tube.. It can be done but you have to stuff around with the angle of the monitor.. The angle has to be LESS (or more flat) so the tube tucks in out of the way of the back door.

Thanks for the heads up Woka.

Any news on the dimensions for the 21" monitor and chassis Mr Johns-Arcade?
                    Is 21" much deeper than a 20"?

Sorry, I have to dig one out and un-box it. I'll do this over the weekend and let you know.

ive had 2 cabs both with 51cm tubes in them (21 inch)

fitted no hassle with the rear door

only issue was since the tube is slightly larger i had to notch out about a 1/2 off the monitor mounts in a lai lowboy to make it fit (the trianglar wooden mounts)

last cab i sold had a 51 cm in it it had a metal support frame so bolted straight on
you can always expect change in life..except from vending machines
