For the last tournament of the season, we had a very competitive contest including 5 new games that have never been played before in the MGL. Magic Sword and The Pit were the first 2 new games, and then we finished the tournament with 3 new games in Changes, Dommy and Alien Syndrome. Nominations like these contribute to the excitement for the gamers playing these games, and all the viewers watching the tournament. The final standings are below.

Congratulations to the 46 competitors that competed over the extended 9 games in 9 weeks program. One game plus one week of competition was added to the schedule to make this one of the toughest tournaments yet. We also had 9 different manufacturers for the 9 different games, a true gamers test in variety of play and spectrum of skills. The publishers were Capcom, Atari, Jaleco, Taito, Bally Midway, Namco, Orca, Technos and SEGA. A very challenging field of games was played, whether it was the ultra strong and reversible gravity of Gravitar, the pattern killer in Ms Pac-man, or the really bad guys in Dommy.

8 gamers made their MGL debut in Henning Gundersen, DWO, William McEvoy, Winterc24, Salim Farhat, Flobeamer1922, Derek Long and Martin Charlebois. Well played and I hope you enjoyed your games. Also with this group, CrazyKongFan, Darren McGahey, Homar, Herve Petit-Jean, Henrik Wiman, Derek Camin, skids, John McNeill, BandontheRun, , Snjspiteri, Sean Clough, Alex Bishop, Andrew Barrow, Fire_Power, Timothy Kreh, Paul Kearns and Michael Sroka played some of the games to post some competitive scores. Together they achieved 2 x game wins, 4 x runner ups and 1 x 4th placing. This group sure did have some great results.

Bob Johnson posted his scores near the deadline of each game and finished in 21st place. His best game was Changes with 54,720 points.
Tim Gadler scored a total of 686 points and gamed with his best placing on Gravitar to finish in 20th place. He tied with Martin Charlebois on MGL points but lost the head to head count 3 to 6.
Martin Charlebois made a great MGL debut to post a shiny 19th placing, even though he missed the deadline to post a score on Changes. A good score on that missed title could have given him up to an 11th place overall finish in the tournament. Every game does count tremendously.
danny_galaga made a welcome return to MGL action and performed very well to take out 18th place. His best scores were on Gravitar with 12,900 points and on Changes with 56,550 points.
Johnny Bonde finished in 17th place with his best placing on Ms Pac-man, scoring 71,240 points and 16th place.
Benjamin Sweeney finished in 16th place again to finish in the Top 20 of an MGL for the 5th time. His best game was on Exerion with 212,000 points and 12th place.
Rich Shearman had 3 of his nominations drawn in the MGL. He finished in a very nice 15th place, with his best scores achieved on the 3 games he nominated. These were games 1 to 3: Magic Sword, Gravitar and Exerion.
Prow from Canada played strongly to finish in 14th place. He scored his best on Alien Syndrome, taking out 6th place with 402,400 points.
Paul Ford played great on Magic Sword and finished in overall 13th place. This was his best performance in the World Championships, after placing 29th, 21st and 15th in the first 3 tournaments.
Kirk Rampersad played in his 2nd MGL and finished in 12th place. He enjoyed Alien Syndrome and recorded his best placing on this game with 342,200 points.
bigredbird finished in 11th place, close to his 10th place in the previous MGL. His best scores were on Dommy with 138,150 points which broke the world record, and Changes with 205,000. Considering he was also in hospital with a serious injury during the tournament, this was an amazing performance.

Kane MawhinneyStephen Krogman finished in 9th place after his best score was made on Ms Pac-man with 99,810 points. He played consistently well and posted several other great scores for a combined total of 796 points. He tied with Pessimeister on MGL points but lost the head to head count 4 to 5.
PessimeisterJeff Mikuska played another great tournament and finished in 7th place. He consistently scored in the high rankings of every game and has now finished in the Top 8 in each of the last 7 x MGL tournaments.
Robert Macauley scored his best on Alien Syndrome with 828,400 points for 3rd place and finished in overall 6th place. This was his best placing in the last 3 x MGLs (10th in MGLXXXVI and 9th in MGLXXXVII). Also this was his 25th consecutive MGL Top 10 finish, an incredible record of achievement.
Daniel Larsen played strongly in all of the games and finished in 5th place. His best placing was 3rd on Changes with 245,260 points. He has now finished in the Top 5 in 8 of the last 9 x MGL tournaments. Outstanding!
Jacob Spring continued his great form in the World Championships to finish in a great 4th place in MGLXXXVIII. Runner up on Magic Sword with 1,045,145 points, he also finished in 3rd place on Ms Pac-man with 114,060 points.
John McAllister played his best ever MGL tournament to finish in a fine 3rd place. Just 5 points behind 2nd place, he took out Gravitar with 150,000 points for the game win and was runner up on Exerion with 642,900 points. He also broke the world record on Dommy with 159,350 points.
Matt SalesChris Clemente who won 5 games and played consistently at a very high level to win his 3rd MGL title. He set several new world records, for example Bosconian marathon at Twin Galaxies, and it was an extremely well played tournament performance.
