    Game Introduction

Scrolling shoot-em-up game. Use your force to help kill the aliens. Pick up power-ups that appear when you kill "Armos". Power-ups help you get stronger. They include air-to-ground, reflective, air-to-air, heat-seeking lasers, and speed-ups.

The longer you hold down the fire button, the stronger your shot will be. When at full strength your shot will kill every enemy that it touches. A normal shot will only kill one enemy.

I've played this a little bit in the past, mainly on the SMS recently but it's very close to the arcade version. I was never able to beat the third boss but managed it this morning, using the keyboard too.

My local deli had R-Type back in the late 80's. Haven't played it since Funspot 2011.

Time to test out the shoulder methinks.

Grumpy old man post: The only horizontal shooter I have ever liked is Scramble

Reckon I'll play this one on the Xbox360 / big TV. As I don't really care

              Game on!

I love this game. Used to play it a lot on the SNES. Good first draw!

I don't think there is any horizontal shooter I like except maybe Scramble.

I seem to remember being much better at this when I was a kid.
