GAME DESCRIPTION

 

 

The player's single jet fighter placed in the center of the screen shoots down waves of WWI Biplanes, WWII era fighters, 1970's era helicopters, 1980's era jets, and futuristic UFOs while trying to rescue fellow pilots and avoid bombs, missiles, and other enemy fire. I just played half an hour of this and am developing MGL blister - should have started training! Haven't played much since the last MGL.

Looks a good game, have only got 70k so far and made it to 1970 once - more practice needed for me.

I guess it depends on your age and at what stage of your teens (normally) that you frequented the arcades :D There were a lot of games in the last MGL that I had never heard of or played.

I was pretty pleased when #64 spun up, one of the landmark early 80's shooters this one. Reckon there will be some pretty tough competition on this title.

Make sure you have your DIP's set on the board correctly :D

 

I think when I played this in my teens that the DIPs must have been set on easy.... Crank it up to the hardest level and the game really does kick your arse rather quickly :lol

 

We are playing Marathon DIPs (3 Difficulty) - Just looked at the Tournament DIPs on TG and it says:

What is it 3 or 8? :unsure Will have to post a question on the TG forums and get them to fix this.

The high score for the Tournament is well over the Marathon (3) score, so I'm guessing it's 3 also. I've posted a question on TG, hopefully a ref will clarify and fix the settings.

I have used velcro dots to fasten my Namco PSX Joystick to the desk for over 10 years :) works well, fasten, then rip off to put the keyboard back, the keyboard covers the dots.

 

I just got a drunken 130k (not quite drunken, but I did have a couple of wines with tea)

Never played this one before ( yes I know, how could I have never played it before? :P ) Anyway, had about a dozen goes and now starting to get the hang of it. I was hoping not to debut with a score below 100k so I am happy :)

Love this game. One of my all time favourites. $500k on this difficulty setting however is going to be pretty tough.

:o I see a few of you have already got past the dreaded UFO stage. I got to the boss ship last night scoring 174K and died as soon as it came on the screen. I keep losing a heap of lives on the space ship stage :(

 

Time for a game while I wait for more customers to open up at 8:00a :)

 

I agree that 500K would be a monster score on this difficulty. I think 200 and 250K will be my first goals.
