Nominated by gamers: creech and DaLar

ROM WolfMAME 0.106: Bubbles

Game Story:

Your job is to run over the ants, crumbs, and greasies while avoiding razor blades, roaches, brushes and sponges. As you roll over any of the aforementioned group, the bubble will grow and eventually sprout a pair of eyes and a mouth. Once you crack a smile you are permitted to bump both brushes and sponges.

Razor blades must always be avoided. The roaches can only be killed with a broom. You must get the cleaning lady in order to get a broom. Shortly after the beginning of each round she will pop up out of the drain. To arm yourself with the broom you must touch the bubble to the bristles. But you must not come into contact with any part of the cleaning lady or your character will swallow the broom. So be careful.

With broom in hand, you can safely confront and kill any roach that tries to sneak its repulsive self out of the drain.

Score Submissions:

Please make a new post for each score you post, with your score as the first line of your post, along with a screen shot showing your score and initials.

This game finishes Sunday 30 July 2017, 7pm Sydney time Australia.

Please make sure your settings are as above. You can access the game settings using the F2 key and these settings should be already set. No continues are allowed when submitting a score and must be played from the beginning of the game. No pausing. No cheats allowed.

Games can be played at the arcade. You must ensure the arcade operator has the game at the MGL game settings for the submission to be valid.

Please note this is the first time this game has ever been played in the MGL.

No Roach infestation here in Qld - all the roaches went home with nothing last night - but they're used to it now after 12 years of SoO domination :) (decipher that one foreign MGL players) :D

For some really strange reason, the fact that I've never in my life had peanut butter (peanut paste) on toast just popped into my head. Sorry, this has nothing to do with this game, just thought I'd share it with you all and maybe try it tomorrow. /end random thoughts.

Gosh John, what type of life are you living? Never? I have often had peanut butter toast as a meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And I mean only that and plenty of it! Then gaming ...

Crunchy only and no added vitamins like bananas or jam ... you must be salivating now!

Sorry to derail this new thread - but OOO is right - the best Peanut Butter is the crunchy one :)

But as for Banana or Jam - can't agree with you there. I believe the yanks called it PB and J - only tried it a few times on a sandwich and it's great. So I'll have one of those this weekend. For those that haven't tried it - peanut butter and banana is a fabulous sandwich :)

Going to bed, I'll give Bubbles another shot tomorrow if no one has knocked off my massive score.

This game feels like it should have been a trackball game. Might have to hook up a controller and see if it make it any easier, can't manage on the keyboard :(

I totally get this. This is a strange game. For me anyway, the game is extremely difficult on a keyboard. I tried an Xbox 360 controller with some success and I'd imagine this would be great for those well versed at using these types of controllers. It's more "roller like" using those little sticks. I never have really quite gotten the hang of them though. I'm going stick on this one, if not solely arcade cab.

I hope you find your best approach as the last thing anyone would want is for you to feel if the game was "draining." :D

MGL 32 - Game 8 ~ Bubbles (closes 30-Jul)

I grinded this with a keyboard a few years ago, managed about 200k. Excited to play with a controller

For some reason I thought this originally used an optical joystick but klov just says a normal 8 way

Edit: actually it may have been an optical 8way originally. In any case I'm sure CKF the info master will know ;)

I might be wrong but I could swear this WAS a trackball game :unsure but all the photos and KLOV say otherwise. Wow age is finally catching up LOL!

yeah, definitely an 8-way stick, optical as Barra mentioned. Some Jousts also had an optical 2-way stick.
