This is a fantastic game :)

Wonder if someone here is capable of maxing it out.

Actually had a go of this for 5 mins about 2 weeks ago. First time since it came up last in a MGL.

Not sure if I'm still rusty or not. Never got the hang of the trapeze last time this came up, maybe this time.

I would have been 17 or 18 tops when this movie came out. My sister was a massive Stephen King and general horror fan and said this would be a great movie as she'd read the book. So I agreed to watch it. Even at 17, I went to bed that night - it had been raining and I could hear water pouring down the drain outside my window and it freaked me the hell out :lol

For those that haven't seen it, or read the book - it's a pretty decent horror movie which has just been remade and is due for release Sep 7 this year.

Back on topic - have a game of Circus Charlie and you'll float too :D

I still am unable to sleep at night when I think about this movie. Clowns are bad. Very bad.

Openers... and perhaps closers. If it were not for me grouping a few of those high wire dogs, this would have been a much smaller score. ;)

OK. So maybe I have more Circus Charlie in me than I thought. I'm still feeling pretty unhappy about this game though. :)

Love this game. Childhood favourite where we used to bike a few klms to the "local" deli and play it.

Alas I'm away this weekend so no gaming for me. At least I don't have to play Frogger again ;)

@John73 you doing some real life trapezing before firing it up?

I'm scared of heights, so no :lol

Thought about stealing one of those horses though, then I'd just need some trampolines for some real life practice

Haven't played this since last time it came up and back then we played the version without the level select.

I still suck at the trapeze level. Missed the landing at the end 4 times in a row. Need to practice the trapeze and horse levels a lot

The makers of Circus Charlie were obviously huge motorcycle fans.

The default scoreboard initials are all motorbikes that were around the time this game was released.

I noticed that @magrinder has taken the top spot with MAX so I found this pic of the Yamaha VMAX.

I think Max looks like he means business on this machine.

I have never tried to make a maximum point before this tournament, there is a strategic side sympathetic in the selection of levels ...

very good choice !:023:

Are you kidding me? ... I have never heard of this before. Has this been posted on the internet sometime in the past, or are you the first person to find this ...

I checked KLOV.com in the Easter Eggs section and they don't mention this and there were no eggs there either ...

I thought Max only drives cars, like in Trackmania Turbo ... http://i.imgur.com/A4esZpJ.gif ... I think that's as flash as the car gets too ...

Surely this is a sign: doing a delivery and what did I spot?

:lol ... excellent photos ... and an excellent delivery ... how much did the horses eat while you had them in the van? ... :deadhorse:

good pickup @bigredbird, As a motorcyclist myself the bikes names stood out like dogs balls to me too. there are a number of games from the golden age that did this same thing with bike names on the high score list, the 3-letter format for high score tables are perfect for it, and Japan being the major (and almost sole) supplier of arcade games AND motorbikes in the 80's. i guess some of the programmers liked to ride, and who can blame them :) it would be interesting to name all the games that did it, i think the same thing was done on some console and retro computer games too for default hi-score lists, at least they always stuck out to me, but if you don't ride motorbikes / are a fan of motorbikes, you wouldn't notice, they'd just be initials.

this is a really fun game, the multiple choice makes it a bit less grindy than a lot of other games. good nomination :)
