  • 1066 in 1 help needed

Hi everyone, a mate asked me to look at his 1066 in 1 cocktail yesterday and and it runs for about 10 minutes and the chinese win2K crashes with the NTOSKERNL.exe <sp?> error.

Which to me means the OS shat itself, how can I help him?

Blue screens like that can _sometimes_ be caused by overheating CPU/chipset. Make sure the fans are working or point another fan at the heatsinks and see if it lasts longer than 10 minutes.

I've seen it happen before on PCs, it appears like a software problem because of the crash, but too much heat on chips can cause it.

I only mention this because it is easy/free to check, but just a guess really.

You might be right mate, when we were testing it yesterday the doors on each side were open and solely for testing purposes my missus and I played it for over half a hour. With the unit closed up it failed.

I now have this unit at my place, I have a fan pointing directly at the gamebox CPU fan inlet blowing cold air on the thing and it still blue screens.

        Does anyone know a fix?

Edit: this is the unit http://www.jammaboards.com/store/106.../prod_243.html

Most BSOD are caused by memory (ram) from my dealings.
Try cleaning and reseating the memory, are replacing with some other for testing...

Being Chinese Win2k, makes it ahrder to decipher the BSOD message
