  • Space invaders I - flourescent lighting

Finally got my Space Invaders monitor and chassis back from repair, put it all together and it works great. One problem that I have though its that the lighting behind the moon seems too bright. I replaced the tube with the same value that was there. Does anyone know what type and value of tube should be used behind the persex moon?

There should be a 15Watt Blacklight tube behind the moonscape. They can be hard to come by so you may have to order one in.

It is a White Black Light tube. Not the purple normal black light.

The correct blacklight is a GE F15T8/BL

I got mine in New Zealand from www.lampspecialists.co.nz

My part 2 cab only takes a 15W. I wish it took an 18W as they are much easier to find but I want to leave it original.

The LAI SI I had a while back had two fluros, a white one and a purple blacklight. I've still got the purple tube, probably the holder as well.

Cool, I'll try the local lighting shops and see if I can find one.

              Thanks for your replies.

Any Lighting shop should be able to order you one, but try Nelson Lamps if you need on ASAP.

He needs a white blacklight though. They aren't as common.

Got hold of a few blacklights (the dark dark blue ones) but they are not bright enough.

I'll keep looking for a white blacklight.

Most of the lighting shops have no idea what I'm talking about
