Hi Guys

I was lucky enough to come across this LAI Mortal Kombat cab recently

Not something I was looking for as I didnt really play it in the day - I discovered girls about then!

But I know that its a classic and sort after machine

It didnt have a mk2 board but a baseball game (Stadium Hero 96) running - sound but no picture so I was told before hand

So when I got it opened the back up and other than some rat poop etc the first thing I noticed was the video wires to the chassis - 3 were not connected?

Other than that everything else looked fine so powered it up and woo hoo!

Sound , picture, marquee light, fan all good - Screen needed degussing and some adjustment but looks ok

So now to fixing it up

Thanks to a member on here I found a board so thats a big start

Needs new marquee artwork and probably new CP overlay as it looks faded

Would this be original ? Its on a metal plate

The joysticks seem ok just might need a couple of new micro switches in places

New buttons - From what I have seen the originals are 2 Red, single white and 2 blue ??

Also did the P1 and P2 light up as they have fittngs for bulbs

Any info on this let me know - colour, type etc

Also the plastic screen surround is cracked in 2 places so if anyone has a better one let me know

Overall the outside is clean and solid - The side art has some rips and tears -left side is better but will leave it as is and try and just repaint

a few areas

So other than above if Im missing anything let me know Cheers

Well did some work and got a new marquee and cpo (Noodleshirt) sorted

I moved the marquee light down as it was more towards the top of the cab for some reason and now its set in the middle of the MK lettering making

a big difference and a new piece of front perspex

New cpo looks awesome with some new buttons and changed the start buttons to red

I decided to keep the MCA joysticks as I pulled them apart, cleaned them and put in new micros and now work great

I have some more artwork coming - Instruction sticker for the bezel and some "MIDWAY" wording for the sides of the control panel

Down the track I will probably repaint the red brackets on the marquee and bezel, try and find a better plastic bezel as its been cut into for some reason

and repaint some of the side art
