Basically a bloke that designed a game sold it to a guy who will help in mame preserving the hardware. A great interview and a nice story. Very recent BTW

I had a mate who had a corrupted ROM on a board that was reflashable (it was one of those that you could wipe with longterm UV exposure and reprogram later).

He asked me if I could track down the ROM and various stats in MAME. We found it, wiped and reflashed hte physical ROM on the board with hte shop eeprom reader/programmer, and fired it back up with success! MAME to the rescue!

Nice story above. And good to hear that not everyone in the arcade collecting business is not anti-MAME.

mame is a usefull tool in helping to repair a lot of pcb's.

Dam site easier to get roms when mame came about.
You used to have to find someone woth the same pcb and hopefully they would let you get a copy of the roms.
