View Full Version : Rebuild Question

14th November 2006, 10:23 AM

I can get hold of a machine without the head section.

The whole lower cabinet is complete, i can build a new head box but wanted to know what boards and other bits were in the head box to see if it was able to be made complete again.

Need more information to answer that question, what is the machine?

i assume it is a pinball

really depends on the type of machine - the carpentry will be the simple part (so i say as I move onto night 2 tonight of building 1 panel of a pinball cabinet)

the boards should be easy too

the backglass will be a pain to source

the interconnecting cables -that is where the real difficulty lies

post a bit more info and eveyone will e happy to help

It is a Bally Mystic.

what do you have of the head?

backglass will be hard - never seen one of these for sale separately

Boards are standard and i am fairly sure the transformer will be in the bottom of the cabinet not the head

What you will need

plywood - frame of caibnet
chipboard for lights behind backlass
sockets for lights behind backglass
wiring for lights behind backglass
five displays
boards - MPU - driver/lights - sound - power (maybe an aux lamp board)
interconnecting cables between boards
cables from cabinet (if these have been cut or are missing you will be in for a hard time)

in short it is a tough project

No Head at all, just the base cabinet.

If all was ok with the wires what would be a rough cost for all the boards and bits minus the wood and glass.

very roughly (and without shipping)

MPU about $300 (getting the new universal board)
and about $80-120 for each other board (working)
the displays are about US$40 each (using the new PINLED ones)
