Hey pistolpete , I think you should delete my score and Wingtipvortex's as the game was not running correctly the game had a multiball issue http://www.aussiearcade.com/showthread.php?t=30257
working on the principal of the game this would of aloud a higher score advantage.

Any FT gurus out there want to make a ruling? No probs putting your scores on the list mate, I'll just put in the notes that you've got the lighting flippers.

Well no guru on FT, but the lighting flippers are 1/8 of an inch shorter than your standard Williams flippers.

So Factory defaults I would think be factory defaults on any machine, but the the extra flipper length should be a ruling ( why someone would change to to regular flippers is like stopping a side ball drain with some sort of thicker rubber). Play the game as it should, if you are playing with long flippers you are not playing the game sort of like playing Galaga with fast shoot. Just my opinion :)

That's probably why it took me 18 years...the first 15 were on 3 BALL

3 balls, standard settings, got one extra ball. Lightning flippers installed.

Made it to Super Jackpot twice, and on the 2nd go around, I hit the Super 7 or 8 times! Killer game! I just concentrated on the lockshot only. One of the most heart pounding games of pinball I've ever played :)

My highest score before this was around 650million, all it took was actually hitting the captive ball when I got there. I usually choke haha. I practiced hitting that lock shot, and made it to Super Jackpot 4 games in a row :)

:059: Hallelujah :059:

This pin and Dracula have been my nemesis since they were first released.

I played Fish Tales heaps back in the day, and intermittently since. Literally 1/3 missed boat shots always ended up down the guts or the outlanes, and 1/2 balls that went near the sides from general play chose the outlanes... Very few exceptions.

If I was an angry bastard I would have broken the glass on every Fish Tales I've ever played.

Anyway... My patience paid off yesterday with a 672M score (previous best was less than 200M).

I felt like a bit of a doofus the next game when I realized that once the Super Jackpot is up for grabs it's just a 'thank you Sir may I have another'. In the 672M game I had 2 balls cradled on the left flipper for ages, and repeatedly missed the backhand for the Caster's Club with the 3rd ball under the misapprehension I needed that shot to relight the super.

So yeah... Scored 1,257,440,850 the next game and sextupled my pre-2015 highest on one of my 20+ year nemesis machines.

Anyone know where I can find a Dracula close to the Northern Beaches? A few of my Metal friends still call me 'Nocturnus', so I'm in the mood to sort this Dracula bitch out and see the Sun rise at the same time.

PS: RGR - It's prolly your 4.6Bil score still on the machine. I never bothered to check the initials coz I was really pissed off to find a new (to me) site on the Beaches, only to see my nemesis machine that's already sited and pissing me off at a Pub 1KM down the road.

Congrats on a superb score BUZ .I've had the same FT since 1995 and if it wasn't in such good nick I would have got rid of it ages ago because it constantly kicks this ol' farts arse and its hard to get a good flow on it BUT when I do (not very often) I get to let out a BOO-YAH, cop that.

Hadda good'un this eve. If only I was good at video games and could claim the extra balls from video mode more regularly.

Cracker of a score. I played it tonight for about 3hrs and only managed a 700MIL. I think I only had two chances at supers over the whole 3hrs. Just couldn't nail the Caster's Club during multiball.

A tactic with the video mode - If you're after perfect score, you don't have to hit all the boats and water skiers. Just don't miss. And don't leave too many or the timer will run out.

So just go for the ones you know you can hit.

For extra ball - Concentrate on the boats in the back row. I find it a pretty easy video mode and shoot at maybe 5/7 targets and always get the EB's, but I'm pretty sure the EB is linked to the boats you hit in the back row.

There's some kind of bug that slows the boats and skiers down once you've hit the EB, making it harder to aim torpedoes for the perfect score, but it's only a 20MIL bonus in a high scoring game.

Are you using the flippers to fire, or the trigger? I find the flippers much easier.

Cheers,

G

Good tips from Buz on video mode. The other one is that if you miss extra ball then keep a shot up your sleeve because it will often make a second appearance - don't know how I found this out as I never miss it the first time :redface

Thanks BUZ and Firepower for the tips. I do use the flippers but am still an at best one from three proposition getting that extra ball. I'll work those tips in and hopefully next time hit the 500 million super jackpots (and preferably many a time over)

To some extent BUZ - my average on getting those EB's ain`t really any better, but it is going to be now that I know how to work it. The further through the game you get you more exponential the point growth can be. First round of supers are 100 million - but deeper in the game that pales in comparison. For example I had my third regular jackpot before 600 million supers pay 240 million.

Crikey. Does it have lightning flippers?

It does not have lighting flippers, and is set by the operator to, erm, cough, five balls. My mate actually "rolled" it the other night, scoring somewhere over twelve billion, but the game won`t display the last digit. You were correct RGR. He didn`t even get to put his name on the score table at all, finishing with a 2 something billion according to the machine.

Wow. That is pretty awesome being able to clock a dmd! Maybe Homepin could put an eastet egg in TAG when you get 1 billion or something...

Had a few mates around last weekend and MrMaloo did 553,686,560 on 3 ball, medium, lightning flippers. Best ever score I've seen on this machine and I've owned it since 1996. Nice work scotto.

I was having a few issues with the driver board on my FT so swapped over with the driver board from my Getaway, first game after change was 2.1 billion and about a week later was this >> 2,401,910,560. Machine is set on factory setting difficulty, 5 ball, normal flippers and extra ball instead of special. Suffice to say that the Getaway driver board is staying put in FT and strangely the FT board works perfectly in Getway ;)

Just a proud dad moment so thought I would post it :D
My 8 year old son put this score up on FT this morning;

- 3 ball
- Factory settings other then extra balls for specials
- normal flippers (not lightning)

12 caught fish and 2 Super Jackpots. He even had video mode lit again, and had 2 balls locked when he lost his last ball!

Gonna take some beating lol.

I think your son needs to get out into the fresh air more often.

Michi.

PS: Do not bring him to any tournaments! ;)

Apologies Mark, should have found this at the same time as the one above, but the "group machines" function in Pinside doesn't work well for scores separated by a number of years!
