Hey Burra, I think the consensus from most people responding so far is that we will keep scores with 3 balls, but nothing really finalised as yet so I'll put yours in for now.

Was Acejas' score with 5 as well?

acejas
25th July 2009, 04:36 PM
im pretty sure it was 5 ball - the reason why Im not sure is that I do remember getting 3 extra balls in a row.

Spwein at your score Burra - hahaha

Is that the 128m you put up the other day? I can't see an update to the score (doesn't mean it's not there of course;)).

[EDIT] - Posted too quick. It's there now. Will update it. Nice score again mate!

Wow....had a monster...2 mill on first ball would you beleive. Read a thread about who switches off thier machines to start again and thought i'd go for broke.

200mill second ball, must of had about 5 extra balls waiting for me. Was one ball away from completing the Alien Invasion :cry had 4 outta 5 and couldn't do it...got a bit cocky me thinks ;)

Only thing i still struggle to do is light the Simpson heads on three ball multi. Only had two this game would you beleive.

Rat has entered the room dudes...........lol

2 weeks of prac, I don't feel many natural shots yet, but I'm getting the couch easily and Moe's 4 in a row sometimes.

I'm playing all factory settings for difficulty and scoring, 3 balls, except I have set 5sec safety on ball loss.

Is that ok?

High so far 150mill

One Billion here I come......hmmm does it clock at that?

Qucik question guys.

I have played a couple of these, and they seem to have different scoring settings?

On one, I can quite easily surpass 100mil, and on the other, have only gotten 40mil once?

Any explanations for this? I am sure there is an easy answer.

spaceballs
8th February 2011, 03:08 PM
Scoring settings.. Not sure, not that I know of but someone may correct me there.

As for the scoring differences it can mainly be in the way multi ball is configured to out lane drain size, pitch...a number of things really.

pistolpete78
8th February 2011, 03:27 PM
Specials/replays set to extra balls? Captain obvious, but are both set to the same no. balls per game?

pinballsc
9th February 2011, 04:29 PM
Yep, both 3 ball settings, on the higher scoring machine there 'match' at the end of the game, about the only difference.

On the lower scoring machine, there is no ball save either, but I couldn't imagine this is the difference between 360m and 40m.

I have read a fair amount of documentation, and I don't think there are settings that change the score for certain shots.

More likely the score discrepancy is due to game angle, check the level bubble, or location???? you feel more motivated at one game??/? all switches working?

There are a vast amount of settings that can be changed, but you should notice them, some games are just different.

Mine is great, and one day if I turn into a teapot Pistolpete might have the chance to buy it back ;)

3 Ball Factory

170,749,010

I had 164mill by the time I finished my first ball (including about 4 extras) then ball 2 lasted 30secs and ball 3 about 6million. Still have not completed all 5 locks in alien invasion, got a new (to me) 2 ball multi - Itchy and Scratchy's revenge mulitball (perhaps I had just not noticed the DMD saying that before?)

Anyway still gunning for the top place :)

The beauty of pinball, so hard to put three good balls together.

3 Ball Factory.

Slight improvement, I have watched pinball 101 and have been practicing a few skills, I think I'm actually playing a bit better as opposed to just having a lucky game :) There are still some advanced skills that are beyond me, but it's fun knowing what I need to practice, bringing a whole new dimension to pinball for me after a lifetime of just smacking the ball with basic aim and trap tactics.

Well it's paying dividends at the moment Rat. Are you going to make a run for the top spot with your newly acquired strategies?

Factory 3 ball.......

So close......very exciting game, got second Alien Invasion on last ball after about 3 missed shots. Lost final ball to drain and tilted trying to save so lost my bonus :banghead: I actually think its the first time I've ever tilted it. Guessing I would have had under 10mill bonus, so probably still not enough. Fun game, and still a goal to beat :D

jardine what is your second highest? and have you completed 5 ball lock in alien invasion yet? (don't tell me what happens)

I don't think I will be beating that score soon, but there is a chance I will one day, my flipper skills and strategy are still improving and the great thing is this somewhat transfers to other pinballs and makes me a better player all round.

Dunno if you know this tip, but I use it so to stay on a "level playing field" I will share.....in reverse flipper mode cross your arms in front of you and reverse the buttons for each hand, double mind f*&k = null, incredible.

knight76 thanks for the quick update and encouragement

2nd highest score only sits at around 185m from memory and no, I haven't done Alien Invasion yet. Still trying. Depends on how i feel when I walk up to the game. Some games I just try to stack as many modes as I can for a different challenge. The more modes you finish the more time you get in AI so it's a good one to practice.

Other times I just try to get secret stash, or the cletus kids. Big one I am trying for at the moment is to light all the simpson heads on the pf'd during 3 ball multi ball. Really want to achieve this. Like you my flipper skills are still coming good, I took a couple of steps backwards first but seem to have improved somewhat, I think.

Thanks for the tip on the reverse multi-ball. Did know about that one

How were your wrists and forearms after those games, one can only guess that they were 30-45min games :unsure

Keep pushing mate, that high score will be yours soon

Other night at whisper house I managed this. Don't know the settings though. I just know it's set to 3 ball and allows you to play your extra balls http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160313/6c238a8b36b1009de6ce1fc5ed381b54.jpg
