EDIT: Added Finished Pics and Build pics below.

Hey Guys, I've nearly finished my first Arcade Cab! It was built using slightly modified plans I found on this forum by 'spot'. Basically all it needs now is the artwork and i'm done :D.

Cabs 99% complete now; (Still needs Black border around the screen, not sure how to approach that one).

Looks brilliant, great work! What did you use to make the corners rounded on the edges, was it routed or did you just sand it by hand (or machine)? What modifications did you make to the plans?

With the Xbox controllers, did you solder them up yourself?

Now I'm bloody tempted to do another cab like this, damnnit!

Those right angle brackets, are they just available from Bunnings?

Thanks :D
I used a power sander to get a rough rounded corner and hand sanded them till they were nice. A fair few, I made it taller and so it can be used standing up or sitting down.

Yep, I bought some of the newer revision Xbox 360 pads, as they have easier soldering points. Took me longer to do the Lp25's than the pad connections

Haha, i'm really temped to either do a MKII or Neogeo cab now.

which brackets sorry?

Cool! You don't happen to have a copy of your ammended plans (or a link to the original ones) do ya?

Also with the Xbox 360 pads, I have noticed that there are several diagrams floating around as to pad points, mind pointing me towards the one you used?

The right angle brackets I'm asking about are the ones you are holding the different bits of wood together with (i.e. the monitor stand etc).

Spot's Plans Link (http://cosmoscity.comoj.com/media/candy%20cab.7z)

Unfortunately the Ammended plans I don't have as the adjustments were made on the fly sorry :/ IIRC I just slightly elongated the plans vertically to suit standing up as well as sitting.

It really depends on what type of pad you're going to be working on.

Yeah they're just from bunnings.

I was thinking of the latest revision fixed wiring, or maybe the cheapie generics from eBay.

SMB - to do the black borders (and get nice sharp lines) I did;

- Tape off the section to be painted black.

- Paint this section white, making sure you paint over the tape. (Without going over the other side.) This "seals" the edges.

- Let this dry.

- Then paint this section black and let dry.

- Peel back the tape slowly to reveal nice straight sharp black lines!!
