Well. Having just returned to my beloved hobby after 4 odd years of slumber (for reasons I won't yabber on about).. my old project list has been dusted off for commencement.

Currently restoring and maming my mates gutted Lowboy that's been stored in my mini-workshop for these 4 years :redface (he expected a delay;)) This is a simple, clean out the door job ... b4 I start on the Guerilla.

I'll try not to put u to sleeeeppp  .. For the full story .. the original project thread was started at BYOAC in '06.... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=49149.0

Tracked down a 1979 Cosmic Guerilla in the back of a collectors shed in '04. Absolute piece of shite. Missing original monitor glass and rear bezel, original coin door and painted in horrible hammertone.. over the top of about 2-3 other paint jobs. Fired up but screen lock on start-up (attract screen lock-up). So power supply or PCB issues I gathered. ( I initially thought chassis toasted as it gave me nothing when I got it home... till I found a faulty fuse holder later in the year during fiddling) Bought her for a challenging restore ...... After research found that they coated the sides of these old 'universal' cabs with a tough clear coat....... did a test safe strip of the paint on one side and was pleasantly surprised  .... based on this find .. restore on the cards.

Sit's in workshop for 2 years while I track down down parts in the US .... Derek Litton kindly sends me near NOS glass, rear bezel, coin door and munted control panel (with original Gyruss joystick mind you  ) ..... rear bezel received star crack during shipping ( from joystick ball from the look off it :realmad: ) .....

Spriggy's arcade stuff goes dormant during house reno's and wife becomes ill ..... stumble's into the Guerillas control panel in the shed in '06 .... and can't help myself but to rebuild and restore it .... Gueilla goes back to sleep.

3 years later ...... I speak to Joey (Jomac) last week about the Linear power supply and other issues.... project to commence soooooon

Stay tuned..:sleep:sleep:sleep

I am just about to start some projects that have been sitting for over two plus years and am getting really excited too

It is insane how quickly time flies and how you can go back and work out that the last time I looked at something it was two years ago

Amazing what can be found under old paint. Brings out the archeologist in all of us.

Don't forget the regular pics...
