What type of corrosion and where abouts is it?

I find steel wool and WD40/RP7 pretty good for getting rust out of metal surfaces, if it's really bad then going over it with fine grit (800+) sandpaper first can be helpful as long as you are careful not to go overboard with it.

Battery damage is caused by an akaloid, so washing in white vinegar firs, scrabbing with a tootbrush or soft brush then rising in clean water will neutrualize the corrosion.

Any other pcb corrosion can be cleaned, checked for breaks, then sealed with a pcb sealer (sort of a varnish)
