Went to the arcade at the north end, near the cinema complex on saturday - don't remember it's name

It has Terminator 3, Theatre of Magic and a f**king light that sits right over the T3 glass so there's a blind spot just above the flippers due to glare, the same light causes a blind spot on the right hand side of the ToM, but it's a bit more bearable

Anyway, I'd never played either. T3 didn't really do it for me - seemed to be in pretty decent nick though. Shoot the ramps or shoot the orbits - FFS give me something else to shoot for. Quote from my wife (who coincidentally kicked my ass at it) "It's taken some pin designer about 1/2 an hour to make this game". Touche.

The ToM was a lot of fun - also seemed in reasonable nick. Flips working well. Brutal outlanes, but kept me coming back. The trunk looked like it's copped a beating but still worked properly ... need to play a bit more before I know whether to add it to the wish list

$2 gets 2 plays on T3, and 3 plays on ToM.

Oh, beware the Dance Dance bullshit right behind you when playing the pins - it's loud, and ****ing annoying

Dont you HATE that...?

They make the same mistake at Replay in Albert St in the city ... the Dance Dance machine is right behind the pins. I played LOTR and WPT but didn't hear a damn thing the whole time.

I wish pins on location had headphones.

I was there playing theatre of Magic at about 6.15 not a bad game, I didnt bother with the T3 as I did not like the look of the game.

Whats wrong with DDR every good games room should have one, I have stepmania on two of mame cabs and an Elvis supplied pad.:p

DDR - mate I just don't get it, but to each their own I guess. On the bright side it's exercise for the kids ;)

But on the dark side, it's just so damn LOUD!!! We could barely make out any of the pins' speech - forget music or sound effects etc.

The light was the worst, though it won't keep me from playing ToM again (soon) :lol

This is where the line is being drawn here..

There was a distinct leap from Pinball to arcade then to arcade fighters and now to these dance/interactive games...

One day there will be an online community restoring these as well...

You're guess is as good as mine, but in all honesty watching some of the fairer sex work out on those dance machines....(Call me queer if you like) but I like it...:badgrin

Ah yes, Boonga Boonga. That was announced at the Tokyo Games Show a few years back. Western media jumped all over it of course as your "typical weird Japanese game" shit. Ironically the Americans make 10 times more porn-related games every year than the Japanese, but for some reason it's a big deal when one of these things comes out of Asia.

Anyways.... still a funny game all the same. Although I can see it being like those old "punch the ball" games where the machine gets FUBARed within weeks of being put on location.

And what's with the DDR hate in here? For a bunch of niche gamers, I find it pretty ironic that you're all shitting on a niche game. For myself personally, I'm really getting interested in "alternative input" games. We've spent the last 20 years using buttons and joysticks or control pads - IMHO it's about time we use something else to make games do things. All these "Bemani" games are pretty cool in that respect, and for the same reason I'm looking forward to playing my Wii when it arrives.

And DDR ain't so bad, especially for fat ****s like me. At least I'm working up a sweat, rather than just sitting on my ever expanding arse infront of Street Fighter. :)

Street Fighter doesnt have to be just a game. Go out and pick a fight with a DDR player, just dont try and throw fireballs at them as i hear that it doesnt work. :badgrin
