I guy has the original Master and has 100 being produced at the moment
$200 usd each.

I emailed him

"I bought the master plate for these. I can make as many as I want. I'm still
looking for someone to market and sell them.
I want them to retail for $200 a piece. I will be looking for one person to
buy the intial batch of 100 for $160 a piece, or 10" persons to buy 10 each.
I will then sell to only that person or persons.

US$200 geez

i know this is a very sought after part but it is a sticker - albeit holomagraphic

that is still a fair whack for what some people pay for entire games

They are impossible to get NOS
I am sure they will have no problem selling them at that price.

no real creatures form the black lagoon

as a side point - I assume Wayne has approved these (does the US$200 inlcude part of the licence fee?)

Otherwise, won't this be subject to another C&D letter from the lawyers?

Wanye is not the only person with rights to reproduce parts.

I will buy one.

Yes true, but from my mis-informed knowledge, he certainly tries to claim alot of WILLIAMS artwork that falls under his license.

Illinois pinball also have the rights to make parts.
They brought all the parts and a lot of the tooling when williams closed.

Thats how Halifax Pinball where able to make new playfields. They make them under contract to illnois.

Thats also how pheonix can make new side art

Is there where that NAPPA comes into play? I would like some knowledgable individual to educate me on NAPPA. Maybe do a write up of who, what, why etc.

I dare say that IPB and Universal Pictures will have something to say about this. According to Wayne, there is a US patent on the hologram and Universal has licensing on it.

Also, he does not have the originals.

the question is what does it mean?

the only people who have been making parts available properly to consumers are the same companies that were offering parts when bally et al were still in business.

These alliances, MOUs, understandings etc seem to amount to naught as we are not seeing affordable replacements yet.

For all that collectors have whinged about Gottlieb's hyper-protectionism over the years, Steve Young has utilised his licence to continue to make affordable quality products.

Now if only Gary Stern could reproduce data east and sega parts through Stern and Gary Cunningham and Wayne Gillard could agree on bally/williams products everyone could stop the flame posting and get back to pinball

end rant
