I was wondering if anyone knows of a locally available replacement for these transistors

off a gottlieb system 80s driver board.

MPS-U45 - (CEN-U45) - (NTE272)


MPS-A13 - (NTE46)

Jaycar show the MPSA13 as their part number ZT2287 $0.28

The only place I found that carried the NTE272 locally (or who could order them in) was Farnell, but at $52 each, I gave it a miss :lol

Best place to get them from is Ed at Great Plains Electronics.

$52 each that must be a joke. 3 of these and i could get a new driver board from the USA.

found the MPSA13 at jaycar

That MPSU45 has a crazy high hfe spec which makes it hard to match.
You could try a BD679 or BD681 (from Jaycar) which are similar but not as much gain.

if i was to try these is there any danger to the board,

what would the difference to the item they control be

i know nothing about electronics,i just follow the marvins guide.

No easy answer I'm afraid. The suitability would depend on a lot of things. I'm not familiar with the board they're from so can't say anything for sure.
