View Full Version : Ultrastar / Karoke

Hi Guys,

I bought some singstar mikes and downloaded 11 gig of ultraster, I was playing last night and I cant figure out how to get my voice coming over the speakers, i.e like a karoke.

So my questions,

Is singstar/ultrastar meant to be able to act as a karoke or is it only a scoring game ?

If its only a scoring game has any one got a recomendation of a karoke system (and if possably let me send a portable HDD to get the "System") ?

Ultrastar IS a karaoke type game. Make sure you have the mic enabled in your windows audio controls. Also make sure it's not muted.

hi Brad,

I did that, I can hear myself within windows -> control panel -> sounds when I test the H/W, but through ultrastar I don't hear anything but I do get scorred for the "quality" of my singing ?

I am using singstar mikes (with USB adaptor), and didn't know if I needed to do some other setup as the mike is plugged in via USB not the sound card ?

Not sure myself. AdamC and dmworking from memory have this app working in their cabs so I'll wait for a response from them

Most of the time , the songs are made just for the point-scoring side of things.
This is how we usually play it.

I read in the Ultrastarsongs.com forums there are only a short list ...

Avril Lavigne - Complicated
Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend
Atomic Kitten - Eternal Flame
Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not the One
George Michael - Careless Whisper
Good Charlotte - Girls and Boys
Madonna - Like a Virgin
Pink - Let's Get This Party Started
Ricky Martin - Livin La Vida Loca
S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'

There might be more , but not many.

P.S. .. Im glad my voice isnt heard :D

Once you have the mics plugged in and you start Ultrastar,
go into the OPTIONS area, then into RECORD.

Left Channel should be on 1

And make Right Channel - 2

I always plug in my mics before i start the program, to let windows recognize the mics.

Also , dont forget to go into Game setting in the Options menu and select 2 Players
