Hey everyone

I'm up in Townsville and there is a decent amount of stuff to find up here, but looking for some suppliers in Qld pref, but anywhere in Aus if need be who sell arcade parts and stuff, as I would like to make up some cabs one day using new or next to new bits..

Anyone know some good places I should try..

Thanks...Pete

For sega parts www.suzo.co.uk, but you will need a part #. A great source for extremely hard to find sega parts. If its still available, they'll have it.

www.ozstick.com.au is good, i have dealt with them before.

www.jammaboards.com also have excellent service and fantastic int'l shipping rates that put alot of local places to shame. These guys are reall good for looms, finger boards etc.

http://www.himuragames.com/home.php this guy is a legend for jap buttons and joysticks. he is always a little bit behind in orders, but he makes up for it by sending you free japanese candies.

www.excellentcom.net also have a massive variety of jap parts at really good prices with good int'l postage rates.

I know that most of these are OS, but i have found them to be better than 90% of local sources.

I've bought from Groovy Game Gear (http://www.groovygamegear.com/) in the States with great satisfaction. They stock Euro-style "Suzo" joysticks (rebranded as their "Omni Sticks") as well as buttons and keyboard encoders for MAME users.

Likewise, T-Molding.com (http://www.groovygamegear.com/) were fast and friendly, and had great quality products (chrome t-molding is cool!).

And a second vote for OzStick (http://www.ozstick.com.au). He posts in here regularly, and is a great guy to deal with. Highly recommended.

We gotta get a sticky thread on suppliers up on here i reckon :)

Sticking a thread like this is a conflict of interest.

It is hard to ask for companys such as gamedude etc to support the site and then on the other hand help advertise there competitors here who contribute nothing and or don't pay for advertising.

If someone asks thats cool, but sticking or constantly displaying a competitor would not be a good move on the sites part.

cheers

Must have missed something, how did you offend anyone? You helping people out is much appreciated.
Just have to understand this forum was created primarily for the collector hobbiest, we decided awhile back if people want to profit from this forum then they can pitch in to keep it running hence the commercial section.

Joey, you're one one my fave suppliers but I couldn't agree with Circus on this. This is a forum for hoobyists, not for suppliers. Commercial interests that sponsor the forums should understand that from the outset.

Unless you reckon it as the price you pay for commercialism.

Maybe there should be a disclaimer on the first page - "Views on this site are biased towards our commercial sponsors' interests". ;)

Actually its the price you pay for keeping a site like AA running.
The setup is simple, they pay and we give them their own section in another part of the forum to flog their wares and promote their business.
The alternatives are popups and ads all over the place or begging for donations, I think the way its set up is a happy in between.

Thats exactly my point and the very reason I support this site is because I support the hobby and the hobbyists.
We have a section for commercial links and sponsors , we are also asked as sponsors not to post commercial advertising etc outside of the commercial section. ( which is fantastic I think )
Allowing this type of thing as a sticky is allowing advertising for companies , businesses that don't support the site at all .

Put simply if you pay to support AA you cant post advertising like this anywhere but the commercial section .
What you are supporting is saying , if you dont pay or support AA you can advertise anywhere you want for free , doesn't really make sense does it ?

Zebidee,

thats cool, you don't need to agree with me. No offence but you need to have been around the place longer to understand the reasoning behind the way the site operates.

However thanks for the input.

Mate, don't even sweat it! you haven't done anything wrong. I was just responding to the question about why we don't sticky this thread.

As I said, if someone comes on and asked where they can get stuff we are not stopping the replies. Its just we can't assist in advertising the sellers who don't contribute or assist the forum.

Also, we have this section for links etc
