Some of you newbies might not have seen the Defender build I did prolly a year ago.

Well I have built another. This time I went for a dark Grey metallic instead of black. Why? I reckon the shape of a cab gets lost with dark colours so I thought if I did it a bit lighter then things like the shape, t-molding, artwork etc would stand out more.

Here are the pics.

Man I really like this one. The reds and yellows really shine. I am getting a lot better with the stencils as well. Excuse the grubby marks in pic #1. I forgot to wipe off the polish. :)

I must say thanks to Jomac for the chassis in this machine. Mate, the colours in the screen have blown me away! The depths in the colours really are a cut above of what I have seen. This won't be the last chassis I buy from you thats for sure!!

Hey DM247, those Yanks ain't got nothing on us mate.

Enjoy peoples!!!

Hard to tell by pics. But you see what I mean about the shape getting lost in the blackness.

I can tell you this look much better than the other in the flesh. The camera and light make it look grey but it is very, very dark grey.

Geez the defenders look awsome, well done again mate.

Did you go with a metal cp or wood ?
Stencil art, where ya get it from, can i have a copy.

So a printer prints the art out on some sticky stuff, then ya just cut out the bits.

Do you use an electric spray gun or air, will an electric gun apply car paint ok ?.

What type of monitor ya got.

Cheers

Cheers. It has a wood CP.
I downloaded the art from local arcade. Put it in Illustrator and separated the colours. Press ctrl + y and shazaam. Stencils! A signwriter will cut them for you . Just ask about stencil vinyl.
It is painted with car paint. I paint all my cabs with it using a compressor and spray gun. I have seen stencils rolled with pretty good results though.

Tube was out of a dead (only about 2 years old) TV from the repair shop. Chassis is from Jomac. Brilliant combination.
