Hi,

Got a problem with my MAME cab where only the top half of any video is visible. I believe this is due to 'double scanning'. As a result of this I can't play any Daphne games and my video jukebox looks very average... :cry ...other emus play fine however.

I'm running a Gforce 2 mx through a J-pac using Powerstrip to an arcade monitor.

Anyone got a workaround/fix for this problem?
Would an arcadeVGA avoid this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I am hanging for a game of Dragon's Lair!:)

Here's a pic of the problem. Same thing happens with video playback of files in Windows Media Player. Note the video fills the whole screen and is elongated.:rolleyes

Woo Hoo! After hours and hours of searching the net I found the solution. For those interested, you gotta turn down/off the hardware acceleration. Not sure why but it works. :unsure

well done

...except for the fact turning down the hardware acceleration causes problems within MAME, causing some games not to display properly. Oh well, I give up :)

Save yourself the headache and either use Soft 15k or a arcade VGA
